Did you mean:

eBay not using PayPal anymore?

I got a message from eBay saying to update my account details.

"It’s now simpler to get paid on eBay

Getting paid has changed: Fees and expenses will be deducted before you get paid out and the remainder of your earnings will go directly to your bank account, not your PayPal account. Get set up in a few easy steps."

I primarily just tend to leave all the money I receive in my PayPal, so I wanted to ask for clarification: does this mean sellers can no longer use PayPal as a means of payment? We have to store the money in a bank account now?

I also saw something saying eBay raised their fees. Is that also true?

Thanks for clarifying.

I am not sure if you can or not?  I was asking, can you?

I know with the seller fees there is a option to come out of you pending funds or Credit Card?  Also I believe the is a option for how you do you Shipping Fees.

So why not Returning Money?  Maybe yes and maybe no?

In MP the fees will come out of your MP account.  There has been talk of a top up method to pay for fees or refunds if a seller's MP account doesn't have enough money in it, but so far I have not seen anywhere that you can enter that information.

Re: eBay not using PayPal anymore?

You can have a backup savings account if your account is overdrawn at your bank for your ebay account to avoid the $35.

Re: eBay not using PayPal anymore?

I found it.

https://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyeBay&CurrentPage=MyeBayPersonalInfo&tokenid=54&ssPageName=suc...

Then "Update your automatic payment". Then it shows paypal, credit card or bank account.

Yours shows backup payment method - none. Now mine says Automatic payment method - credit card.

You are right.  I thought I saw it somewhere before but could not remember.

Me too I like PayPal

The fees are still high with eBay direct deposits and you got to wait a few days to get your cash.

I am confused. I do not presently have a checking account to use one-bay. What are my options?

@Anonymous

When Ebay notifies you that it is time to move into MP, you will need to open a checking account that you can use to register with MP.  There is no options for this.  It must be a checking account at a bank.

If you decide to do this, make sure that the checking account you set up is set up exactly like your Ebay account with your name and address.  No differences at all, not even one character.  The must perfectly match.

Re: eBay not using PayPal anymore?

I have been getting messages about this change. I do not want to link my bank account,  so will stop selling on ebay. I refuse to be bullied into not using paypal, my preferrence. There are plenty of alternatives to ebay now, I think this is a big mistake that will lose them sellers.

I respect that.  If you aren't profitable enough on Ebay, then this is a good decision for you.  Casual sellers do have more options that small sellers do.  I wish you the very best.

FYI, What I did a long time ago was open a separate checking account for attaching to MP and the other sites I sell on as all the sites I sell on require a bank account.  It works great for me.  Having the separate account makes bookkeeping much easier too.

Re: eBay not using PayPal anymore?

It’s been well over a week I’ve made a sell and still getting emails saying they’ve issued a pay out with updated days. Why is this ?

Call me if eBay goes back to PayPal as a transaction manager.

Re: eBay not using PayPal anymore?

Important to note, they take fees from the total transaction amount.  Including shipping AND taxes paid.  Which I think is ridiculous. Buyers are paying more and sellers are paying more.

Re: eBay not using PayPal anymore?

Yeah I preferred Paypal.  It takes closer to 2-3 business days to receive payments after sale.  Was nice to have immediate funds before.
