eBay is withholding my payouts until I update my bank info. Okay. But the way they recommend that I do this is to log onto my online banking through eBay! Actually put in my username and password that allows access to remotely do my banking. Nope.
Fortunately they allow other (slower) options. I can wait. But I'm stunned that they would even ask this. That would be insane.

Either way you want to do it. eBay needs that info or you don’t get your payout.
I sent mine the quick way, it’s safer that mailing it.

Good luck with that.

Millions of sellers have done this with no problems.

It's been a long time since I signed up for eBay's Managed Payments, probably about three years ago now.
I didn't think it was insane.
Proceeds from my eBay sales go to my checking account automatically within two or three days, depending on whether a weekend is involved. I haven't had any problems with this system.

I didn't do it that way. They got the routing number and the checking account number . They need to verify the account. They will send you 2 micro deposits. Once they arrive, you then need to tell them the 2 deposits. Then your account is cleared. They will take back the micro deposits.

This is how I chose to do it as well.
For that haven't done so yet, my advice is to NEVER give the username and password to your online banking portal to anyone for any reason. If you already have, God help you.

It is not so eBay can do banking or take $ out of your account. It is to instantly verify the account belongs to you. It's a one time deal. Change your password when you're through.

Exactly, and its drama free.

This is insane - never trust a third party with this level of detail. It takes one cyber attack and your account is drained!
They also now don't offer payouts via snail mail and force you to supply this information to receive your funds. Anyone who knows tech knows nothing is safe online. They don't let you even close your account with out providing this PRIVATE and sensitive information.
Cut ties with this company. They made enough profit from you and now they want to open you up to cyber attacks that can bankrupt you tomorrow.
No thanks.

Ebay will not have your banking credentials on file anywhere. All an Ebay employee will see are the last f 4 digits.
Banking info and hook ups are processed by Plaid, who does it for most of the banks, websites and companies. They process the hook up through ACH, the same group that process cc and bank checks and than delete the info. Your info never hits a permanent server.

You still have 28 listings up, so can't be that bad.

Not for long my friend!
Enjoy paying your ridiculous commission rates and risking yourself to a cyber attack. Many other platforms without these ridiculous rules!
P>S> the only reason on on it now is because they wont let you close the account without giving them you bank account info! I just hope there are people out there smart enough not to fall for the crazy. Good luck!

According to who? It's one thing to have CC info ~ another to have access to your savings account! I don.t trust anyone when it comes to that stuff. No matter what is "said" and there "claims" of safe records. Its your freaking bank account! ~ cray cray.

I believe people have an account just for eBay. Or should. That way you avoid your savings and household account from prying eyes or nefarious activity.
