I'm a 20+ year eBay seller/user. The first request for a copy of my bank statement was a bit of a pain, but asking for my bank information/copy of statement again after just a few weeks is absolutely unacceptable. I've cancelled my active auctions and am looking for another viable outlet.

I hope wherever you go it works out for you. Ebay would have had a reason for asking again. Did you check with them to find out why?

Thank you for taking time to reply.

I'm sure in your ebay messages somewhere there is an explanation for whatever the problem is. Are you sure those messages are from ebay?
I've been in MPs for More than a year with 2 accounts and 6 months with a 3rd account without issue.

I have submitted three bank statements with the balance blacked out for privacy reasons. My name, address, and transaction details are all visible. eBay continues to say my submissions are insufficient. I just submitted another bank statement with nothing blacked out. Apparently, eBay needs to know how much money I have to verify my identity - they claim they can't verify if I submitted "hided" information. I guess my business license, corporate records from the Secretary of State, my tax certificate, and my driver's license were insufficient for verification purposes. What worries me is who is reviewing these submissions. The emails requesting this information are so poorly written that I initially thought it was a scam. You would think a company like eBay would hire people who know the importance of putting spaces between words and after periods.

Are you getting this email in your Ebay messages? Not just in your private email messages?
I ask because there are so many typos in that email. Now while Ebay certainly isn't perfect and will have typos from time to time, but this one seems to have quite a few.
So make sure this email appears in your My Messages before you click on that link.

It appeared in My Messages. Otherwise, I would have ignored it. It was so poorly written that I'm actually embarrassed for eBay.
Also, it makes me worry that the same people who are responsible for this email are also in charge of the alarming amount of bank information that they are demanding from me. I'm not even sure why they need to know how much money I have but, apparently, they can't verify my identity without it.

I would have questioned the legality of that email as well.
Hided, really hided ... means covered in hide like an animal is covered with hide.
The supervisor in Payment Management department who approved that email should be fired.

Honestly Ebay. I believe the process is these go through several people before getting released. How did everyone miss all these typos.

Hey @mam98031! When viewing this message through their eBay Messages I'm not seeing the spacing issue, just that the word 'hided' was used. There may be a formatting issue going on with their email provider if it's looking differently outside of eBay.
I'll also pass this feedback on as 'hidden' would've made more sense grammatically with that bulleted line in the message. Thank you!

Your post is very chilling to me. I stopped selling several months ago when I saw the number of problems people were experiencing with Managed Payments, and especially with the extreme difficulty they were experiencing getting any kind of basic customer service from eBay. I read many posts and related replies on the Forums here. However, as time had passed I was about to sign up for MP to try to sell some things over this holiday season.
Now I see from your post that not only is eBay requiring our social security numbers for MP (which I had NOT provided before, despite that many posters said I had even though they weren't part of my previous eBay/Paypal initiation process), but they are forcing much more information. Bank statements?! WITH current balances?! Ridiculous!
Now I'm dreading the similar responses to the ones I saw before from certain shills for eBay saying all is fine and there's a valid reason for every one of the company's mistakes and bad treatment of customers.

I'm not sure why you don't see the spacing issues - I posted a screenshot of the message from Ebay's My Message box. I wouldn't have responded if I saw a message that terribly written in my gmail or yahoo account. Before you blame it on my browser, the spacing issue is the same in Safari, Firefox, on the browsers for both my iPhone and Samsung phones.

Well, here's another reason to be wary of returning to eBay. I called customer service numerous times to plead my case. The last person I spoke with confirmed that the information I had submitted was sufficient. My funds were released the next day. However, this morning I received another poorly written email stating that my account has been temporarily restricted because too many buyers were complaining that they haven't received their items. Ebay asked me to resolve this issue. However, I haven't received any messages with complaints from buyers. The only messages I've received in the past week were from two buyers who said they didn't receive order confirmations and they wanted to check on their orders. Both orders have since been shipped and one was delivered yesterday. I have no open cases in the Resolution Center. I also checked my orders and all of them have either been delivered or are still in transit. When I called customer service to find out which buyers had filed a compliant so I could respond, I was told to check my Seller Account and My Messages. I told her I couldn't find anything and I asked for some direction. She didn't seem to know the answer either. I was told to respond to the message that I had received from eBay with an explanation for what I've done to resolve the problem. I told her I'm still trying to figure out what the problem is. She quickly thanked me and hung up. I guess she was done with the conversation. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to fix a problem when they won't tell me what it is. I wonder if I'm being punished for complaining on this site and/or posting a screenshot of the embarrassing email.
As I'm writing this post, I received a response to my inquiry about what the problem is and what I should do to lift the restriction. Please see below. Their response was "na".

My account is now on hold once again. I called customer service and no one seems to know which buyers had filed a complaint. I responded to the message from eBay only to receive "na" as the response. Please let me know who I can contact to find out what is happening with my account. I've been a seller for over 15 years and this is the first time I've encountered back to back issues.

IDK, but maybe it is mobile device related. The app often functions differently than on a desktop or laptop.
