What to do?

Need feedback, had a buyer send a "make offer" and I accepted the $4,000 offer on the $50000 box truck, 3 days now and no payment, called the buyer he did backstep a little, and said he wanted to see the truck before buying and did not want to make on the offer, part of my issue is it cost me $50.00 to post the truck they was only on eBay for 1/2 the posted time? I can relist the truck for $50.00 but why should I pay again when the buyer will not pay.

Re: What to do?

Vehicles listings on eBay are non-binding. eBay considers a listing successful and charges a “Successful listing fee” when a vehicle listing ends with a winning bid or offer.

Re: What to do?

So basically, I need to file a action against the buyer as he has no current intent of buying it.

Re: What to do?

Re: What to do?

Just a heads up...unless you sell stuff at that price all the time you will not receive any of the money for 30+ days if payment on eBay. EBay usually withhold funds from something at that price. I would get buyer's address and phone number before and check him out on the internet first before anything. Maybe then I would drive it to him at a Starbuck's or something to check it out.

Re: What to do?

eBay forced me to pay the $50.00 at the time I made the posting, and they took that $$ right away. Driving it would be hard, I am in Indianapolis, Indiana, and he is Crestone, Colorado not a close drive.

@lynxerrorinc

From the Help & Contact page, it appears that your answer is: "Duration up to 30 days". Looks like you eat it, I think...

Re: What to do?

How does getting the buyer's address & phone # help in this situation? OP apparently already has the address and possibly phone #.

Nothing to do....vehicle listings are non binding.

The seller or buyer can change their mind at any time

Re: What to do?

Vehicle bids or offers show an interest in the vehicle, however either party can choose not to complete the sale. We advise anyone purchasing a vehicle to inspect and test drive it before paying because vehicles can't  be returned.

The buyer was correct in not wanting to pay until he saw the truck. Did you make arrangements for him to inspect and test drive it?

Re: What to do?

Just because he is in a different state he can still  arrange an inspection and test drive by we go look or another company that does vehicle inspections.

Re: What to do?

Vehicle listings are the same as if you posted an ad in the newspaper for the vehicle; if someone started a transaction with you based on your newspaper ad but didn’t follow through, you would have to pay ad fee to the newspaper again.
