Managed Payments is eBay's new payment processing system. Eventually, all sellers will be required to use Managed Payments if they want to continue to sell here. So, if you want to continue to sell here, you will have to sign up by the deadline given in the email sent to you.
There is lots of info about Managed Payments in the eBay Help Pages. You can start here:
https://www.ebay.com/sellerhelp/payments
If you have more questions, please come back here and ask. There are lots sellers here that will try to help you.

eBay's own payment processing system.
eBay has been keen on getting the payment processing fees portion of the sale that had been going to PayPal. So they set up their own system and are now progressively forcing the sellers onto the program.
It works....kinda. Slow processing times and slow payouts so the money from the buyer is in eBay custody for roughly 2-3 days before its transferred to your bank if you select daily transfers.
I was forced onto it last year and while I resisted to the last possible moment before converting because PayPal worked so smoothly, I bit the bullet and moved to Managed Payments so I could continue to list items for sale.
If you go into Managed Payments with the right mindset and expect it to be slow, clumsy, and frustrating at times, you will do OK with it.
Good Luck@!!

Different fees?
10-09-2020 07:21 AM
Overall- fees are about the same.
1.) They 'take' the fees off the top of the purchase. They charge you Final Value Fees on entire sale, including tax & shipping. They also charge the processing fee, so you will pay 13% (example) instead of 10% to ebay and 3% to Paypal.
2.) Payment does not hit your bank account for 2-5 days
3.) You can ship before pymt hits your bank by using 'pending' funds from the sale (or from you paypal account, but know you have to put $ in your PP acct. as these 'sales $' will NOT be put in your PP acct.)if you want to 'ship in 1 day, ship in 2 days' etc, otherwise, change your 'handling time' to 5 business days if you want to wait until you have $ in the bank.
4.) They will 'hold' money from future or current sales for all pending 'refunds'.

Yes, the fees are different. With managed payments you will be charged a category based FVF + $0.30 per order. The FVF will be calculated on the order total which is, item price, shipping charge and sales tax.

More **bleep** from our "friends" at eBay.

Been a member for over 25 years, Will never recommend ebay to anyone else because of their "managed payments" Just a money grab so they can pay upper management larger bonuses. ebay sucks, I'll say it! I have to get another checking account, because I can't use a saving's acct. Ebay sucks! Try to have a phone conversation with someone! Almost impossible!

Here's an honest answer: Managed payments is the latest 3 ring circus eBay is forcing on the world and like everything else they do, it's a disaster.
Hope this helps.
