I've tried two cards and it says the same thing.
i'm trying not to get a suspension by paying for items but seems like i'm not allowed to purchase anything.

If a credit or debit card, it could be a problem with the valid through date.  Updating it might solve the problem.

one card is a visa platinum preferred card   through a credit union . still has 2 years left on it before expiry .

Did you input as a "credit card" on file on eBay platform first ?....and then returning to the item to pay for it.

Maybe putting a credit card on file first might help.

The Visa, of course should have worked, imo.

The only thing I can think of is clearing cache etc. on the browser. Or try a different browser and/or device.

Log out and back into eBay.

Personally, I never use the phone app, so I will have to leave this one to the pros if you are using the app.

Others will be along.

This answer got me one step further  but it still said unable to verify card.

Just need to go through the credit union to manually verify.
