So I sold an iPhone to someone, and he had me ship it to a freight cargo company where my usps tracking # gets stuck at “usps regional facility”, but is actually already delivered, he then now claims that he got scammed and recieved package not as described in messages, but doesn’t open up a claim… he’s sending me pictures of it & literally stating that my package was delivered and doesn’t know why tracking didn’t update to delivered, and eBay can’t do anything about it although he is clearly stating it’s been delivered? I called usps and there’s nothing they can do because it’s already been delivered, but that it just wasnt scanned. Is this a common scam? Now I have to wait 30 days for it to be proven that he’s recieved the item, but in the meantime I assume he will just contact the credit card company for a refund and keep my phone.
this is the adress he had me send it too:
8400 NW 25th Street
Suite 100
Doral, FL 33198-1534
(it’s a 3rd party)
The buyer literally sent me messages here on eBay quote on quote saying he has recieved the package of the tracking label provided yet eBay won’t confirm it as delivered because the tracking won’t update to delivered.

Look at eBay ID country buyer in feedbacks...what country?
There is 'freight forward'(cargo) in Doral, Florida.
And we know buyer has not received it yet...LOL...from Feb 2nd to his country.
'not as described'...ha...when and if he opens a claim send a return label.
Buyer will lose or probably do nothing...since he has to return item to cargo company and then to you.
Return label not used you will eventually be refunded by eBay.
Credit card dispute...those are hard to win as a seller...but does this buyer know this or does his bank knows he does too many disputes and won't OK the dispute?
Can you see it's been delivered in Miami from tracking? Then you are safe.

Has the buyer opened any type of return case or item not received case thru eBay?

He just opened a refund case stating I sent him item not as described.
Super annoying, he used a third party isn’t that going against eBay’s money back garunteed?

give them a return label, if they do not return it then you should be fine (maybe) the tracking not updating is the catch. if they return something different then take pictures as proof and submit a claim and SEND the same photos to the buyer and ask what is this? this is not the item you received, did you make a mistake? and then just let it ride out thru ebay.
Sometimes when it goes thru a 3rd party forwarding company the tracking is slow to update as delivered.
you could try again to reach out to the post office and request for them to update the tracking in there system.

Items where the buyer used third-party freight forwarding or mail redirection is not covered.
Step carefully here. Sellers have reported they lost and were forced to refund because eBay said a freight forwarder address is not proof it is being forwarded. Cough cough-they were told it could be a work address or it is being held for pickup. This is the lame part- you need an eBay message from the buyer confirming it would be forwarded to them after it is delivered to xx address.
Your best bet is to accept the return and provide a return label.
The buyer will have to return it at their expense to their freight forwarder and have them return it to you.
