Around October eBay placed a restriction on my account because a buyer tried to scam me & say I never sent their items. After providing the shipping information the restriction was removed. However during that time my bank account that I had on file closed & I switched to a new bank. After several months of phone calls & eBay sending my payouts to my old bank account & them being returned I finally received an email asking me to update my bank account information. For the past 11 days I have been trying to update my bank account with 4 different banks (TD, Santander, PNC, & Chime which were all in my name) & receiving the error “we can’t verify this bank account” or “we ran into a problem. Upon speak to somebody from the sellers verification team who had me follow a screen mirror process so he could walk me through trying to update my bank information several times he disconnected the call in the middle of our conversation. So I called back & was transferred to the sellers verification department again where I was told that because of all of the bank attempts my account would be blocked for 30 days. Even more frustrated I began checking on google & apparently I’m not the only person experiencing this issue. There are several people who have been having this for MONTHS in the last year, & even worse ebay NEVER fixes there accounts or the issue & just tells everybody to wait & try again. eBay is holding out money hostage & giving people the run around instead of the truth. This company is trash & I encourage everybody to NEVER USE EBAY TO SELL ANYTHING!

Yes. PNC, TD Bank, Santander, & Chime. All of when are checking accounts in my name & I’ve tried both verification options

Pick a bank and stick with it until you get verified. The jumping around confused the system. Makes you look like a scammer. Hence the 30 hold.

Did you message then get a call back using he help/contact? There are no numbers that you can just call. If you found a number to call, I highly suggest changing your passwords.
Be sure that your name on eBay and address match exactly what your bank account shows. Any deviations between the two, is a no go.

Are you sure you're talking to eBay? The screen mirror (to screenshot?) your logins on all 4 banks,
- then the abrupt disconnect after getting everything they needed,
- and the brush off when you called back.

Yep- ebay has VERIFIED my account ( had the SAME one for 40 years- and has been attached to my eBay account for 20 years) and still won't pay me for 30 days. I fought over this- filled a complaint with BBB. Fed up with this for 3 months- I set up an on line account "Ally"- top rated- FDIC insured- and are getting another runaround on my new account...

I use a Walmart Green dot account. It's accepted on both of the sites I sell on. Had it now for over 6 years. No problems. You can order one on line. Comes with a validated bank number and routing number. Try it.

Did this ever get resolved for you? I've been dealing with same exact thing for 3 months and I'm beyond frustrated. They verified my debit cards connected to my bank accounts but said they "couldn't verify this bank account". I also had probably 4-5 customer service reps tell me they would pass it to the "technical department" or "speak with a supervisor and call me back the next morning and never did. Most recent call was the same, told me to try ANOTHER bank account after trying 3.

Yeah that might have been true at some point in time but it isn't anymore. I read on this account earlier today to use the GreenDot Money Card from Walmart, so I went and purchased one today. I also added money to it and just activated it. eBay would not confirm it just like they wouldn't confirm my Chime account this morning. Maybe these posts should be updated because i Judd's wasted my money on a card which won't work.

I agree. eBay does things like this to people a lot and will hold their money hostage. It can be extremely difficult to verify accounts that are legit, eBay does not have a lot of banks on their list. Even if your already verified and selling for a full year they will one day for no reason start holding all of your money hostage until you reverify all your info all
over again and wait another 1-2weeks. They can’t even give reasons for why they do it to people half of the time, it’s the system and their system sucks. They don’t care about struggling people who are in desperate need of their money after selling items
