I recently sold an item on eBay. The buyer paid immediately however eBay held and continues to hold my money. I questioned customer service as too why eBay won’t release my funds and was told my funds are I hold. I over 200 transactions all 100%. Never before has eBay held my funds. Last I checked the receiver received the item and was happy with it.  EBay continues to hold my money. I contacted my lawyer and asked him to draft a letter a theft to be sent to ebay. Failing that I’ll continue to go public to warn people that ebay may or may not pay you for selling on their website.

  • New or infrequent sellers will experience transaction holds while learning best selling practices. This helps sellers become established and build a strong selling history on eBay. New sellers typically experience holds for up to 14 days, although sometimes it may be longer

Don't waste time. We know the ebay policy.   Ebay has the write to hold funds 14-30 days.   You have not sold much.  You are considered a new seller.  By the way, did you sign up for Managed Payments?  Did ebay ask for your ID and social security number ?  Did you give ebay your checking account number and was the account verified by ebay? (Did they send you 2 micro deposits and then you told them what the 2 amounts were?  If you did NOT do any of these items, you will NOT see a cent.   Hiring a lawyer will be a waste of money.  He will find out what ebay policy is and tell you exactly what I have told you for free (and all of the other folks that will probably respond to this post.)

I don't know what you sold but sometimes ebay will also ask for a receipt if the item is pricey or jewelry or a video game system.   Ebay has these policies in place now to combat fraud. If you had kept up to date with Ebay notices, you would have known this information.

Look in My Ebay and look at messages .  Do you see one from Ebay. Perhaps it will say why your funds are on hold.  Sometimes, your spam blocker can block a message.   By looking in MY EBAY, you will always find your ebay messages.  Goodluck.

You haven't sold anything in awhile, so they treat you as a new seller.

New sellers will have their funds held and they can hold them for 30 days.

Are you signed up for Managed Payments so you can be paid?

Have a great day.

I have 2 seller accounts and the feedback total is over 10,500 for both. If I start selling with this account tomorrow, I will be treated as a brand new seller despite the fact that ebay knows that this account is linked to the 2 other ones.   I have been here since 1998 with the 2 other accounts.   Ebay just wants to keep ebay safe.

This is what they should have done from day.

Until your recent sale, you have not sold anything here for over a year. And you only have six seller feedbacks in your history. That explains the hold. Ebay prefers any refund comes out of your pocket, not theirs.

BREAKER BREAKER Double 0 Seven,,,,your high power 10 meter Anytone transceiver you just received feedback for is illegal.   I don't see it in your sold list so maybe eBay removed the listing.

Be sure you tell your lawyer you were selling an item not allowed by eBay or the FCC.
