The real fallout of MP

Now that the majority of the medium to large sellers (read- people who have full time businesses and cant just quit ebay right away) have been forced into managed payments, eBay announced that it is blasting in everyone else- the occasional sellers........ These are the people who casually sell here and use to use the proceeds to buy on ebay.( and largely drive the commerce here). They are mostly unwilling to give SS#, driver licenses, and open new checking account to use ebay...... so they will just leave.

I imagine that in the coming months ebay will lose millions of accounts because of this. In fact 3 of my neighbors just dropped off extra shipping supplies and told me that they want no part of Managed Payments.  The real problem is that these are people that will no longer shop on ebay now as well.......

My mother came by after getting the notice and said she was done too.  Its a shame because she said that she bought 12 blouses just the other week on ebay but if she cant have her money in paypal from the stuff she sells- she is just not interested. She was a typical average person that listed and sold just so they could buy again but she was disappointed now.    My wife showed her how to get a Mercari account and showed her how simple it was to list and how your proceeds can be saved and used onsite (like ebay used to be) or can be transferred to paypal.  She was thrilled- she is a typical online shopaholic!  Ebay lost another seller/buyer.......

I truly think this summer  is going to be an eye-opener for ebay- and unfortunately us

For me MP is all about the word When!!!

  • When will something purchased be paid for?
  • When will something in a state of process be processed?
  • When will orders placed on a weekend or around a holiday be processed?
  • When will funds arrive in my bank account?
  • When will extra fees charged be pulled from my account?
  • When will I run out of money in PayPal to cover postage?
  • When will money moved from my bank account arrive in PayPal to cover postage?
  • When will funding shortfalls be pulled from my Bank Account.
  • When will difficult customers cause fund holds on my account?
  • When will getting paid become more stressful than selling on eBay?
  • When will there be a way to invoice a customer refunded for an order  that arrived late that would like to pay? (From MP)
  • When will there be a way to invoice a customer for shipping up charges when they want to upgrade shipping? (From MP)
  • When will revised invoices not be a problem in any situation(For Sellers & Buyers)?
  • When will add to cart work for the PC?
  • When will partial refunds to customers cause partial refunds for FVF's for sellers?
  • When will PayPal message me asking me to sign up for a new money processing service where I have available funds as soon as a customer pays? (Sorry, was thinking out loud for that one!!)

Re: The real fallout of MP

You can’t use Apple Pay or Google Pay just to name a couple.
