Scam

Hi, 

So I got completely screwed over; I had a buyer buy my iPad Air (5th Gen), an apple pencil, and all the accessories. I received an email that they had paid but that the payment was on hold for waiting for delivery, which I understood until the item was delivered, and I have not received the payment. I went onto the eBay app, and I found out that there was never a payment that was given. I don't know what to do, because I have contacted the buyer more than 10 times since yesterday. I'm a college student trying to pay my bills; I need so much help! I have already reported the buyer but need further assistance; I have no idea what to do. Someone, please help me!!

Did you sell it with another id? Dont see it on this one. What kind of email did you receive?

How did you know where to ship?  And as bonjourami points out, we can't see the transaction under your screenname.  You might find the transactions easier to find and work with on the Seller Dashboard on a computer.   The items you are sold really get the eye of Sauron on them and you are considered a new seller- this screen name hasnt sold anything in a year. 

There are a few absolutes here and one of them - Ebayers correct me if I am wrong - is that Ebay will not tell us to ship unless they have received the payment.   I'm concerned you got an email (like through Gmail) instructing you to ship

Sorry to say, once shipped it's gone.  Apple items really "bring them out of the woodwork" too.  Wish I had better news.

If the package hasn't been delivered, you can try to have the package intercepted and returned to you.

If it's already delivered, not much you can do if it wasn't paid for.

Try to intercept/return package through your shipping service (USPS/FEDEX/UPS/etc) ASAP if not already delivered.

Most likely you lose. No help through eBay. Buyer sent payment message; they are not going to respond.

The only possible solution is to file police reports in yours and the buyer's jurisdiction and report buyer for fraud to eBay. For possible recovery you would have to take legal action. I have seen eBay cases on Court TV shows.

I never send without eBay telling me to ship from the orders page. Never had an issue:

If you sold this on your name here it's not in your sold list. eBay must have removed the listing which means the others have reported they received scam emails or he bought on a hijacked account.

There's no way to get paid if he didn't  pay on eBay.  It's a common scam to send a new seller a fake email. They hope you'll ship and not verify the payment in your seller hub.

Did you provide them with your email address?  That is the ONLY way for the scammer to send you a fake email.  You have learned a costly lesson. NEVER EVER ship an item without seeing if you got paid by looking in MY EBAY.  If you do NOT see the payment there, you did not get paid. NEVER give out your phone number or email address to a buyer. They only need it to scam you.

Scammers looks for new sellers like you.  Take time off and LEARN how to ebay by following ebay policies and it will be harder to get scammed. I also suggest selling cheap items until you know how to sell.  Goodluck.
