Ebay has restricted my selling capabilities for refusing to join mp. I can't list new items, which is fine because I am listing them on my own site. The real problem is I cannot edit items. So for an item I have multiple listed of, I can't lower the amount I have listed. So now that I sold something locally I can't change my ebay listing to reflect that which means eventually someone will buy it and then I have to cancel their order. They are still allowing me to sell, but just not to do it properly. In their quest to fleece the sellers they are hurting the buyers too.
Ebay is the worst company I have ever done business with in my life. They are dying and I am glad I have the ability to continue my business without them. MP Is the final nail in the coffin for ebay. Hundreds of thousands of sellers have quit over it already and its just going to get worse and worse as sellers like me leave. The only thing that will be left on ebay is china **bleep** and direct sales from corporations.

This may be their platform but do you really believe the sellers have no rights ?? Ebay would not be a platform if it were not for the sellers that list on it !! Ebay as usual think only of ebay and the shareholders getting a fat bank account off the sweat of the sellers !!

You are listing an item on Ebay and listing it somewhere else at the same time.
If you sell it locally / outside of Ebay, you still owe the Ebay FVF.
eBay fee avoidance policy:
Sellers are responsible for paying fees for all sales made using some or all eBay services, even if the sale terms are finalized, or payment is made outside of eBay.
Sellers are also responsible for Final Value Fees if they offer or reference their contact information, or ask for a buyer's contact information, in the context of buying for selling outside of eBay, even if the item does not sell on eBay.
Activity that doesn't follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or canceling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to you.
These are Ebay rules.

When I said "are you joking", I was referring to your suggestion that previous eBay changes did not mess with a sellers funds.
That is why I quoted just that statement from your post, and even highlighted it in red.

::general reply::
Sellers have had over two years to prepare for managed payments. Now that it is here, I see a lot of shock and anger. Why? There were over two years to prepare. Did sellers think this was just going to go away?
This is not your business, it is Ebay's business. All sellers do is provide product. Sellers are not running THEIR business, they are running A business on someone else's platform, and that someone else has ALL the control.

well fact is most of the latest changes are a joke not just MP but that one takes the cake !! I also never had any issues with payment glitches from pay pal ! Not ever! And when glitches that are happening like they are with MP because it was not set up properly forcing such as they are is unfair ! Fact is they are forcing it to remain selling on here and the system is not working so why are they forcing a broken payment method ??? No matter what anyone may say that sticks up for MP the fact remains it is for ebay benefit more so than for the seller.

With that logic ebay will be losing hundreds of thousands of BUYERS at the same time sellers leave.

yep ebay has been pushing this nonsense for 2 years and it is still an unreliable system with many issues yet they want to shove it down the sellers throats and gag them to death with it !! Why in the world would a seller want to sign up for an unproved system that does not work well ???

There are many many sellers that have had problems with PayPal and eBay over the years- there may be many sellers having issues with MP and eBay now; however just because you and/or I have not encountered these issues does not make a speck of difference here. This is eBay's site, eBay's rules and eBay can make changes whenever it so chooses, however it so chooses...
eBay provides this platform for sellers and it is up to the seller to work within the site's rules, policies, guidelines etc...and if the platform is not what the seller wants or does not work how the seller wants it to, the seller must adjust, adapt and use the site in the manner that works best for their needs; but it is entirely up to the seller to accomplish that task. eBay has chosen MP as its path into the future and sellers either follow along or move on. Sellers have had 2 years to decide the future of their online selling; 2 years to take whatever path best suits their selling needs.
My choice was made 2 years ago and I am doing just fine selling elsewhere, but will continue listing some items on eBay until the day that I can no longer do that. I have accepted eBay's path into the future and that path may not be what I want but it is not about what I want; it is not about what any seller wants; it is about what eBay feels is the best path for their business.
It matters not how many sellers choose to leave eBay; eBay will evolve and continue on...
and all those new sellers to eBay will adjust, adapt to the site as they won't know the "old eBay"...all these new sellers will bring their wares to be sold on eBay and life goes on...eBay lives on...

You can list and sell the same item elsewhere all you want, you just can't advertise the item on eBay and then take THAT transaction elsewhere.

Are you an adult?"its not fair"is childish as "fair" is subjective and not promised or a given
Of course it is to ebay's benefit.Ebay is a for profit company not a non profit.
It as a tool that sellers can use if they wish,no seller is indentured to ebay
This is a user to user board not eBay employees.

Hi everyone,
This thread is getting a bit heated. Please remember that, while it is fine to disagree with others, discussion should always remain courteous and respectful.
Thank you for your cooperation.

@muskingum_relics wrote:No I am not joking ! There is nothing to joke about ! Ebay has hijacked the control from the sellers and there is no other way to see it ! Simply put it is a money control issue and ebay wants the control !! Why should you care or ebay care how a sellers chooses to receive the funds ! Ebay has robbed the seller from any choices except to stop selling ! Is ebay so smug that they just do not care ?? Unfortunately the answer is yes !! They do not care !!
Well that is an overstatement of a program you have no experience with.
I'm unsure as to why it is different for some that Ebay has it's own money processing program and not other sites that do the same thing. All comparable sites to Ebay have their own money processing programs and many of the sellers complaining about MP are also selling on those other sites or are saying they are going to move to them. How that is different IDK? Guess it is simply because Ebay did this that is the issue for some.
Whether you agree with it or not, money processors have laws and regulations they have to deal with. They simply don't get to do whatever they want, whenever they want. Your statements are colorful and meant to get others concerned or up in arms over this. I have no idea why this subject is so important to you since you no longer sell on this site. Why do you spend so much time trying to stir up sellers? You have a reason for doing it? It isn't an effort to help anyone, so what is the reason?

do you have a reason for sticking up for ebay and a **bleep** policy ? Are you a ebay employee ??? Why do you care if people oppose MP or not ?? I have simply been replying to post made from the original poster whom I totally agree with !!
