Question about Seller Protection on eBay Managed Payments

Hi

We have about 5 credit Chargebacks from customer for unauthorized or not received item. We do have valid tracking number showed delivered.

We summit the information, cases still being hold for almost a month. We contact eBay Payments, and here what they wrote :

Thank you for reaching out to us again about your dispute. I know how frustrating the uncertainty can be regarding payments disputes. I am happy to go over this with you further.

When it comes to claims being opened with a buyers bank our hands are tied with time frame and decisions that are made. Reviewing the order I can see that we are in the process of sending over information to the buyer financial institution. I understand you've stated the buyer received the item, However, since the case was not opened with eBay we are unable to close this case. The funds will remain on hold until the buyers bank closes the case. This can take up to 90 days. Once we hear back from the buyers bank on the decision we will be following up with you.

I appreciate your patience while we work on this dispute for you. I trust this information is helpful. Have a great day.

---------

Our concern is, do we have any kind of fraud protection from eBay? What if the bank favor to buyer, will eBay cover the fund for us? Does eBay suppose to take care for sellers right away if we meet all the requirements?

Hope anyone can give us advise.

Thanks

Here is the information regarding payment disputes and seller protection.  The protracted delay in the release of a seller's funds when they obviously have fulfilled their obligation for seller protection has been reported before.  I suppose they 'make you wait' simply because they can?

Re: Question about Seller Protection on eBay Managed Payments

If you're covered under "seller protection"  Paypal would release the funds even if the case itself stayed open.

ebay unfortunately does not seem inclined to do the same thing.

Re: Question about Seller Protection on eBay Managed Payments

Hi

We already sent reply to eBay, point out policy to them

In that policy, there is part said:

"
Seller protections

If the transaction is eligible for protection, we’ll cover the amount of the dispute, and waive the fee in the following situations:

"

We will update once we have answer from them.

They force us to use their payment management and get rid of Paypal. They also need to accept the risk of chargebacks. So hope they will cover the fund for you.
