You have to go back to where you purchased it.   A scammer took that card and copied down the number. They then replaced the scratch off strip and placed the card back on the hook.  They wait for it to be sold and then spend it's value.  The missing numbers are so you can't spend it before they do.  It's a very common crime.

@simba6

I just hate to read these posts. Are they sold as scratch-off, but a label is reapplied by the scammer with nothing under it? I'm reading that some posters (just as @ry895539) saying that they peeled off  the label and have been confused... thinking the number might have stuck to the label. I wonder if buyers need to only buy the scratch-off kind. Hmmm... 🤔

Afterthought... I guess those who know how could replace it with another scratch-off strip... 'Label' vs. 'Strip' confuses me.

Can be hard to know depending on how the OP worded it.   I suppose some low end scammers might not go through the trouble of an actual strip replacement.  Some other kind of tape could have been used.

I hate gift card problems too.

It's  not just eBay but other kinds are cards are tainted. It's not safe to buy them.
