I sold a chanel bag in 12/3, it was delivered on 12/6. On 12/5 I was asked by eBay for my id to verify my account. Which was provided to them immediately.
payment is still in hold. I have called and was told by customer service that they don’t understwhy my payout is on hold and the supervisor will call me. I was told the case has been escalated blah blah. Still no payout.
has this happened to anyone else. It’s weird and disturbing. Plus they pulled all of my listings off.
Btw the bag was authenticated and customer seems happy.

Is this for the Chanel purse you relisted? Did you cancel the transaction when the buyer didn't pay by Oct 24th before you relisted it?
Did you ship with signature delivery added to the address provided?
I'm not sure why your payment is not released by 30 days.
Removing your other listings is a concern.
What message came when they were removed, such as VeRO or infringement reason?
Has eBay asked you to provide receipts?
Did you contact eBay through Help & Contact? Those agents read from scripts. You get better help by contacting eBay through Facebook or Twitter.

The Chanel bag was part of the "authenticity guaranteed" program so once it passed their inspection and forwarded to the buyer, you should have been good to go, at least as far as the money from that sale. (And the fact that they forwarded it to the buyer indicates that it is authentic and it matched the description and pictures in the listing regarding condition.)
ETA: Although the buyer didn't leave feedback, they aren't required to do so. It's possible that they're waiting to release the funds until 30 days have passed from the date of delivery to the buyer. It was sold on Dec. 3 but what date was it forwarded and delivered to the buyer?

Did Ebay ask you to provide receipts for the $2500 purse you sold? Prior to the sale of the purse, your previous sales were not high dollar items. If you haven't sold in a while, ebay treats you like a new seller and will hold the funds to honor the 30 day money back guarantee offered to all buyers. That means if there's an issue and the buyer files a claim, the funds are there to refund the buyer. You might want to find the receipts for those items in the event that they ask for them, so you can get back to selling.

I bought the bag on eBay years before brand new.
I have sold expensive items. My own stuff. I am not a professional seller. Just resell my things.
have sold watches, bags etc and have had only one person return a pair of shoes because they did t fit her.
I was just on the chat with eBay and they told me my account is being reviewed by legal department. I don’t even know what that means.
they told me that they don’t need any information and just wait till they release my funds. I asked how long will it take. They told me that they don’t know because legal
department is out side of the office?
I don’t understand what is happening?

I certainly hope things go your way. Ebay has been extra cautious with high dollar items because there is so much fraud and stolen merchandise on this platform. My guess is the law is leaning on them some what. Just sit tight and let us know how your situation comes out.

Honestly I think that would be a better avenue for you to take then Ebay's CS. Sometimes their info is incorrect and false, as they are not employees of ebay, but contract labor located overseas.
See if the FB link can better help you with your current issue.

yes I canceled the sale immediately.
A month later I sold the bag to someone who ended up paying more. The transaction was smooth. The buyer never gave me feedback but they had no complains.
I think they were looking for this particular item and signed up with eBay to buy it.
Ebay just asked for my ID which I provided.
they never asked for anything else. Didn’t ask me for receipts. It’s so odd.
btw I bought this back brand new ion ebay, just wore it couple of times.
I don’t even understand why they restricted my account? Which I don’t care about because at this point I’ll never buy or sell on this platform again.
Every time I call they give me **bleep** answer that they have everything from me and just to wait. They tell me that they escalated my concern and someone will contact me. No one ever did.
now I was told my case is being reviewed by legal department. I don’t understand what that means and they don’t either.
I have contacted eBay for business through Facebook and they referred me back to ebay customer service.
I sell things just because I have no use for them. I could have easily kept the back and passed it on to my daughter or niece.
Bigger question here for other ebayers:
If eBay has issue with the items being sold why are they taking their commissions and allowing the goods being sold to begin with?
why not clarify the origin of the item before the sale? Why ask people for details after…

I asked the buyer to
leave a review but they didn’t reply. The buyer had no reviews. It was a ww account. I don’t think it was a problem because the buyer was looking for this particular bag.

I have contacted eBay for business and they told me that they can’t do anything and I referred me back to ebay customer service for payouts.
