I sold an item after not selling for a year and ebay placed a hold on my payment. It says the hold will release after delivery and it is out for delivery today. So i'm wondering if they will automatically release the funds the same day as delivery or is there yet another waiting period after delivery confirmation?
I'd appreciate info from anyone with personal experience with this. I chose my debit card as payment, so i'm hoping it would immediately load to that card sometime today after delivery. But it's Saturday so it may not happen until Monday? I'm broke so really want to know if I may possibly receive the funds today lol.
They did allow me to print a pre paid shipping label and deduct it from my payment, so that was helpful. I just hate these holds. Back when I used to ship in the past, the funds would be in my Pay Pal account as soon as the buyer paid for the item and that was cool instant money. Sad they don't do that anymore.
Any info is helpful...if I have to wait a few more days that's ok, but hoping i'll see it today. 🙂

I thought I saw somewhere that you can pay an additional 1% fee to have funds instantly loaded to your debit card for payment. I guess that won't matter until 14+ days and then i'll be able to choose that option?
^^^ It's 1.5%. Since I don't know how it works, I'll add the link... read the 'Payouts to your debit card' section. Good luck.

New sellers have payment holds.
Sellers are considered new if they have not had sales in 90 days or more.
Are you signed up for Managed Payments?
Have you read the Payment Holds section in blue on the right of the page?
It will most likely be 30 days before you get a payment to your checking account.

It won't be today or Monday. Here's the long read. >> Payments on hold | eBay

Thank you for the link. I clicked on it and it said "We can’t confirm the status of your payouts right now" and I saw where it says it may be at least 14 days after item delivered to be paid. Wow. I used to ship all the time and was so used to getting paid the funds instantly. Oh well, I guess those days are gone and that's that, but thanks for the help. It's appreciated.

Thanks for the link....oh geez, so many hoops I feel like a circus animal lol. I'm just going to leave it be and whenever I get paid I get paid. It's really not worth all the hassle, but I really do appreciate the help given here. Thank you.
I sure miss the Pay Pal days of instant payment. 😞

Have you provided a checking account and your SSN so you can be paid?

My preferred payment is currently set to my bank debit card, however I just noticed I still have a previous bank as my other payout method and when I went to update it, it asks me for the full account number of the previous bank.
I have no idea what that full number is so unless I can retrieve it, I cannot update my bank info which I think is silly because who remembers full account numbers of previous banks?!
Thankfully the preferred payout is my current debit card so I should be ok and they do have my SS# on file.

I did some digging and found my old checking account number and was able to remove it to add the current one. I guess people should always keep their old checking account numbers handy somewhere in case they may need it in order to update bank info in places!

Your debit card if it is from your bank....eBay usually needs the "bank routing number" which most debit cards have. Your banking source can give that to you in your bank. Usually a bank routing number used to be on a check but we don't use checks that often any more. This was the only way for payment for me.
So there is a "instant payouts" in eBay which you can apply for later after you start getting payments from eBay. I can withdraw "available funds" anytime 24 / 7 if there are funds there...once a day. Otherwise, most sellers have to wait 2-3 business days for their funds.

Update :
Item was delivered and funds now say available and "next scheduled payout: Sun. Aug 20", so i'm all set. I was able to overdraft on my debit card (I told you i'm poor lol) and have until midnight Monday to replace it without penalty fees so all's well. Whew! 🙂

Thats good, just be aware that PP fronted the funds for most sellers, MP does not do that.

No, your payout goes to a checking account, not your debit card.

Since my debit card is for my checking account, it's the same thing. In any case, it specifically states that it's going to my debit card ending in 8154 and my checking account ends in different 4 numbers, so I think it's safe to say it is in fact going specifically to the debit card. But as I said, debit card and checking account is the same thing so the point is moot.

Final update: It only took 1 day from delivery confirmation. This morning the funds were deposited in my checking account less the 1.5% fee so the advice of being 30 days was way off and hopefully this can help someone who has the same question dealing with a hold.
It could be as little as 24 hours after delivery confirmation to have your hold released and funds in your bank, so the quicker you ship, the quicker you'll be paid!
As for having it go to debit card or checking account, there really is no difference since it winds up in the same place anyway, so I don't know why they allow you to choose either/or. Could it be that depositing it to the debit card is quicker than depositing it to the checking account? Anyway, here's what the email said:
"Sent to Mastercard ending in 8154"
