Non payment question

I have been doing well reputation wise on eBay. I’ve been trying to establish my “good seller rep” so my holds would stop being so lengthy. I have two buyers who purchased stuff days ago and no matter what, they ignore messages and haven’t sent payment. I get it, stuff happens. But it’s affecting me now since it’s just hanging in limbo and other customers have asked if the items were still in stock. At least respond and let me know if you cannot follow through 😞 has anyone else dealt with this lately?

Re: Non payment question

Stop sending invoices. Each time you do it resets the clock.

The only time sellers would need to send invoice would be if combining shipping. Otherwise, there is no need for one or to send messages the buyer. They know they bought something, and eBay reminds them of that. Once the item has been "bought" is should not even be showing on the listing page, so not sure how people could be asking if still in stock. If it is not showing in your sold items, then it has not been sold.

You can set it up to automatically cancel on day 5 after the listing was "sold" or you can do it manually. But as I said, each time you send an invoice that countdown clock resets.

Re: Non payment question

I agree with Red... stop sending invoices. At 96 hours and one second following the sale, you can cancel citing, 'Buyer didn't pay'. This will garner the deadbeat an Unpaid Item strike and a couple of those keep the deadbeat away from many sellers for a whole year. Take one for the team!

Re: Non payment question

Why are you not using the tools eBay gives you? When a buyer has not paid in 4 days, cancel, citing "buyer did not pay" as the reason.

And quite messaging and sending invoices.  It accomplishes nothing and re-invoicing actually gives the buyer more time to pay.

Better yet, if it fits your business plan, list with fixed price, immediate payment required.

Re: Non payment question

You can cancel it as unpaid exactly 96 hours (4 days) after purchase. When you send an invoice though you restart that 4 day clock.

Re: Non payment question

I have sent a payment reminder after a day, but after that I’ve learned that it’s just a waste of my time and energy to chase people for payment. After the 96 hours is up, I cancel citing non-payment and re list.
