My payments are on hold because I need to update my identity information. However, I do not have an active legal ID. I do not drive, and my government issued ID expired last month (I didn't get the prompt to update my information until after it expired). At the moment, all ll I have available is my university ID. I won't have time to renew my government issued ID for awhile, as I am both busy and my closest DMV is always full. Do I just have to wait for my payout until I get it renewed, however long that may be?

Im afraid so, Ebay will hold your funds indefinitely.

Although I feel for your dilemma, eBay doesn’t care what your reasons for not complying with the information required to keep your account in good standing and running.
I suggest you call your DMV and schedule an appointment. Otherwise, you may be kissing your eBay seller account goodbye. Any funds on hold will be turned over to your state’s unclaimed property department where you still would need proper identification to obtain your funds.
Sorry if that sounded harsh but it is facts.

I sent a first page copy of my bank statement with the bank logo on it...bank printed one for free for me...this was for "instant payouts" whenever I have "available funds".
So, just so you know...if you don't get a "real ID' or "real ID driver's license" or a passport you will not be able to fly domestically in the USA very soon...and...will not be able to enter a government building like to get tax yearly forms and so on. And forget about getting a passport....people have been waiting for months and months to obtain one.

Did you check with your DMV to see if you can renew this online?

Too busy to get an ID, but not too busy to sell $350 shoes here?
