My bank states that eBay caused me a $34.00 NSF!

Less than a week ago ebay minus 9.02 for postage labels, then they returned, then they attempted to take it back giving me an NSF. Norw I know that I owe $9.02 for the shipping labels. The bank told me to get a hold of eBay and tell them to send the bank a text, note, letter or something like explaining it was your fault and that your sorry, it won't happen again, etc. Then I can clear the NSF and eBay can get Their $9.02. Who do I talk to about this????

Yes, eBay takes the money back and charges you for the label when the buyer returns it if it wasn't  as described.  It was not a mistake on eBay's end but on yours for not having $ in your account when a return is filed. I don't  believe eBay is going to write a letter saying it was their fault you didn't  have sufficient funds in your account.

Ebay never admits to making an error.  The best thing that you go do now is borrow money and run to the bank, deposit the money and make sure that you always have funds in the account.  If you have a credit card, link it to ebay and they can use that credit card to pull funds for whatever fees you owe ebay.

Be grateful if the bank does not charge you a fee for getting into negative numbers.  That is a no-no.  Your credit score just took a hit.

The bank told me to get a hold of eBay and tell them to send the bank a text,

Use a CC for fees and postage instead if your available balance is dry.

If you are going to sell items online, then you need to fully understand how the payment system works. I suggest you read up on the policies for this platform before continuing to avoid more recurrences of the same. Best of luck to you....

@rayam_62

Nobody at eBay. Maybe the bank would take pity on you (and issue a credit) if you  did something like explaining it was your  fault and that you  are sorry and it won't happen again.

eBay can't guarantee it since it could  happen again if you're bank account is needed. Only you can guarantee it. Good luck.
