I have identified issues with MP reports. Have spoken to many MP reps - they all have agreed that the reports appear to contain conflicting/wrong data. I have been promised a call back from a Manager/Specialist every day for almost 1.5 weeks. Crickets. No one has returned the request. What needs to be done to be able to speak to someone who has real knoweldge of the reports and MP data? The lack of support - for a financial issue - is an awful reflection on ebay. I have been with ebay 20+ years, have a store, have Concierge support - and am rewarded with this level of non-support. Please advise.

Could you give me a heads up on what the conflicting/wrong data is so I can see if it affects me and my business accounting? TIA.

The Payout and Transaction reports have conflicting Payout Dates - meaning that the payout amounts/items have different Payout dates. The reports cannot be reconcilled. An item is indicated having payout date X on one report and Y on the other. Also note that the 1099 Detailed Report pulls data on Settlement Date. No other report contains a Settlement Date field. Therefore, the 1099 Report cannot be reconcilled (unless hand checked) with any other report. Since it is based on Settlement Date my reports contain transactions that occured in the prior month. It is cash basis. NOTE - since original post, I have called ebay additional times, still promised a specialist call back - and still NOTHING. Embarrasing.

I think what's happening is you're paying eBay's taxes. In other words, the settlement date has zero to do with you, ostensibly as the "seller of record". The MP TOS transfers accounts receivable as well as claim to intangibles to eBay upon sale. Settled; only with eBay as the "seller of record" - until, of course, it becomes time to turn you back into the "seller of record" come tax time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This accomplishes two things: 1. eBay gets to quarterly overstate its GMV. 2. You pay the tax.
So it's no wonder the whole thing is irreconcilable. I just don't see how turning sellers into vendors and back into sellers is accepted accounting practice.
