Not lost on me they've locked every thread on this topic. Interest earned in a single quarter by sitting on "processing" payments for a day or two each, given the level of funds they take in daily, would be in the neighborhood of $61 million. Anyone that knows even eighth grade level economics knows that money that sits in a bank earns interest. Now, two days may not seem like much, but when you're taking in millions, it adds up fast. I'd be curious to know if ebay claims this as taxable income. Somehow, I doubt it, given ebay's reputation for shady dealings and practices with other people's money.

as much as it pains you, as i recall, it has been pointed out by some of the more mathematically astute posters that that number is, in fact, a line item on the quarterly income statements released by ebay.
What is a "locked" thread have to do with anything?

"Somehow, I doubt it, given ebay's reputation for shady dealings and practices with other people's money."
And yet you continue listing here? Ebay has nothing to do with content on the board, Khoros does that, and only locks old threads to make room for new ones.

While the payment is processing, there's no money to make any interest off of.
