Just sold an item that says 'payment will process automatically on Dec. 19'. Is this something new?

I feel like the dumbest person on ebay.  I only do a few items a week now, but every week there seems to be something new I don't know about.  Just sold three items and one has a note attached that says 'auto pay Dec. 19'.  Is this something the buyer can set up?  I assume it's a good thing for sellers, since I've had a lot of no-pays lately.  Happy Holidays, everyone.  Hope you've had a good sales period.

No, the auto pay is an option for sellers to use to make sure they get paid.

So did I do something that made it go into effect?  My other three sales didn't have it.  Is there a setting I have that I don't know about.  Well, duh, obviously.  There seems to be lots of settings I don't know about, regardless of how many times I go through them.  This one I seem to have missed.

eBay has set all sellers to require preauthorize auto payment for all offers made by buyers, and for bids. Sellers can opt out of that buyer requirement.

Last I read, all offers from buyers need to have payment preauthorized.

Auction bids the preauthorize is being rolled out. Not all in yet.

Just some buyers have been added to the bid pre authorize program that required auto-pay at the end of the auction.

As a result of complaints about not being able to do combined shipping on multiple wins with auto-pay, eBay has just started to change that auto-pay at the time that the auction ends, to auto-pay in 3 days to allow for other purchase to be combined.

to add to this. I am not sure if the buyer can pay sooner than the 3 day auto-pay when payment has been preauthorized. It would make sense that they could, but............................
