I came on this community post to see how others are responding to eBay’s new policy of “managing” the payment process. I can see that many feel the same as I do and eBay needs to respond. I was more than happy to pay PayPal a few extra bucks to manage the transference of funds from my transactions. PayPal did an excellent job and my funds were available immediately. I sold 2 items on the 27th of May and one on the 28th. It is now the 1st of June and I have yet to be paid! I have no idea when I will be paid, as there is no information available. This is completely unacceptable!
We, the Ebay community are the people who make eBay work. We make Ebay their money and pay their salaries from the fees we pay from our transactions. This new movement from eBay to “control” the process regarding the exchange of payment, was SOLD to us as an improvement of the process, as well as a “money saver” in the sense that we would no longer have PayPal payments. Well... I see this as a total power grab by Ebay to control and protect their best interests by withholding our funds until all parties are happy, thus further eliminating eBay’s need to “get involved” in disputes. For example, people not reading the descriptions or return policies thoroughly, buyers remorse, or quite simply, buyers and sellers not using common sense or doing their due diligence before engaging in a transaction. Ebay has always been a laissez-faire as far as I’m concerned. Eager to collect their funds, as we are seeing with this recent policy change, but conveniently absent if you need to contact them or need their assistance. It’s like “talk to the hand” or more accurately, “talk to the community”.
In any event, thanks for reading my rant and I’m happy to see that others are feeling similar. Ebay has been on a steady decline for the last several years in myriad ways and I think that once I’m done, or should I say sold out of my current goods listed, I intend to do a lot less business with Ebay unless I see considerable measures to improve and not just a thinly veiled “bill of goods” (in other words, a bunch of **bleep**!), designed to make Ebay more profitable for its shareholders and less “hands-on” for the management and staff (if that’s even possible). Cheers!

Hi, that was a pretty good rant - the best use of grammar and punctuation I've seen thus far (I even appreciated the 'Cheers!' at the end). It is tough at first, I remember my first rant. I won't rant-shame you, just wanted to let you know it does get better and there's a lot of people here to help if you have questions.
Incidentally, you can find this information in the payments tab if you still want it. . .

People have been responding to the MP process, both negatively and positively, ever since it was first announced which, I believe, was at least two years ago.

You do understand that payments are not processed on the week ends or holidays?

For those who keep hanging on this has been announced for a while bit, it has only recently been fully enforced and there were a lot of holdouts, thus the complaints wave. I have seen way more people disenchanted than pro with concern to MP. All I see are the same posters harping the benefits and rarely someone who does not post here as a regular. OTOH, we see new names all the time saying the same things others do via concern, yet they are more often than not met with the aforementioned group of folks trying to spin all of this to fit their narrative. If MP and policies were not broken, we'd not be seeing the rash of complaints.

I also will be moving on. I will not be giving all of my information to ebay. Take a look on their seller center-new policy payments-and I quote: we will use and share the information you submit as described in the payment terms of use. NOT ME! Ebay is a gateway for hackers! What is to keep a buyer from doing charge backs up to a month later? Ebay will not help you on that-as it had happened to me before. This is not a good thing and I will be moving on!

I do understand that, thank you. However, 5 days to get paid, then 1-3 more days until the transaction posts to your bank account? I find that completely unacceptable! PayPal had my funds available immediately after the transaction was funded and there was zero wait time to transfer it from PayPal to my bank account if I chose to. Three or four bucks more to PayPal was definitely worth it. Ebay says one of the “benefits” of their system is no more PayPal fees, but their selling rates have increased enough to equal the absence of PayPal fees and their process sucks! Totally designed in their best interest and “sold” to us as if they were making it easier and doing us, the eBay community a favor! 🙄

Two years later and it’s still nascent and terrible. I had payments processing for 5 days before they were even available to transfer. Over 7 days to get my money despite having daily payouts selected. Garbage system.

Hi “popblox” - Thank you for your reply (I think?) I realize there are plenty of opinions on this eBay Community page, but I think it would be hard to argue the points that I brought up. Six days (so far) and I still have not been paid for the two items I sold on the 27th of May. That’s unacceptable to me and what I’m finding out here, many others as well. I am more than willing to pay PayPal an additional few dollars to manage my transactions. Their services are far superior to what I’m experiencing with this eBay MP debacle! With PayPal, my funds were available and ready to transfer to my bank account immediately after payment was received. As mentioned, it’s going on the 7th day since my last transaction and I have no idea when my funds will post at my banking institution and eBay’s “Help” pages and the actual “Payments” section are virtually worthless, just as their “Customer Dis-Service” is.
I’m not sure if you are employed as an apologist for eBay or just a friendly member of the community, but to me, it seems like eBay has been steadily moving away from that welcoming village market vibe, where the buying and selling of goods was actually kinda fun, towards a much more “Corporate America”, laissez-faire type of feeling, where stockholder satisfaction far outweigh the value and services provided to those of us who influence their stock prices and otherwise, make eBay work (that would be us. The eBay Community).
In any event, thank you again for your reply (I think?) and best of luck to you in all your future eBay transactions!
haha Now it appears eBay doesn’t like my comments, as all kinds of obstacles are popping-up making it very difficult for me to make this reply!

First, Paypal wanted out. They no longer wanted to be Ebay's sole processor.
Ebay does not have your banking information. Ebay does not control your money. Aryden, one of the largest and most secure CC processing companies do. Your bank account is not floating around. It is not available to hacks due to the secure nature of 1 way access and assigning a code to your bank account. Know this one because...geez hubby in cyber security programing for one of the largest chains in the US. I have used them on Etsy for years with ZERO problems. My money is in my account the next day on both Ebay and Etsy. If you are not getting your money daily, and if you have your settings set to daily, it is YOUR bank.
Ebay policies about returns etc are no different than anyone else's . It is due to certain standards that companies who take Credit Cards must adhere to. Every read your perks on your CC that protect you from fraud.?
But more than anything, because of the expansion into Apple pay, google pay, more straight forward CC payments, younger buyers are returning to Ebay.

Oh, I was being entirely sincere. I was just trying to maintain some level of lightheartedness in my reply because I didn't want you to feel any worse than you already do. I genuinely understand where you're coming from - I moved into MP right before Labor Day last year, so I experienced this exact same turmoil while waiting for my money over a very long weekend.
Despite a huge amount of sales, I was utterly broke and turned to these boards to vent my rage. Seriously, if you scroll down far enough in my profile, you'll find several post and replies from me around Labor Day that sound very close to everything you're saying (EXCEPT I WENT THE ALL CAPS ROUTE). I'm letting you know I get it. I'm letting you know I know it sucks.
You seem very competent and capable, I just wanted to show you how to find some information you were looking for. I don't need eBay (or anybody else) to pay me to type a few sentences - I find it rewarding to be able to help those I can relate to. I know it sounds crazy, but there are some decent people left in the world.

Did you notice the date of the original post?
Have you not switched over to Managed Payments yet?
