Well, you gave PayPal your SS# and the bank info that eBay wants (account#, routing#, etc.) is printed on your checks that you gladly hand or send to someone you've never seen before. I don't understand your reluctance.

yes I understand that... I have none of those... I paid in full all invoice fees, and I have no auction style sales, all buy it now.
I'm just living with it as one of those necessary evils we have to deal with.... it hasn't been terrible, but it sure seems like I am paying a lot more now than I used to..

Ebay takes too much of your profit. You can't give the customer a fair price unless you give up half of you're profit. At first I thought great now I don't have to pay Paypal fees for my orders. I was dreaming right? Ebay raised their 10% fee up almost 3 percent. All they really need is a mask and a gun. That's what they are basically doing. Robbing us blind. I sold a phone for $700 bucks and eBay took $100. Seriously. It's not right but what is in life and politics anymore. Nobody listens and crazy greedy people are in charge.

"WRONG!! WRONG WRONG!
Not everyone had to do that....
Never had to give PayPal that kind of info!
and NOT everyone uses checks anymore...haven't written a check in years!!...

NEVER gave PayPal a SS#. They don't start asking you for it until you get close to the 200 transaction/$20,000 in transactions AND they don't cut you off (if you don't provide it) until you reach the 200/$20,000. Why give your SS# to someone who does not legally need it? DON'T give your SS# to anyone who does not legally need it.

Here's what to understand - any payment to you from a buyer's PayPal account GOES TO EBAY TO DEPOSIT INTO YOUR "MANAGED PAYMENTS" ACCOUNT (which should NOT include PayPal anymore, if you're smart). They are just going after the 3% PayPal charge + $.35 in addition to their 10% scalper's fee, and thus , "SAVE" you the PayPal 3% charge (check the fee structure now). I DO NOT WANT THESE PEOPLE HAVING THEIR HANDS IN MY POCKET, I.E., BANK ACCOUNT. I don't even want to think about any "business" related bank fees for these money transfers - I'm just a hobbyist selling here since January '97, without any storefront, because I don't use eBay as a business outlet. This place is not fun anymore.

If I don't want to play this game, I think I need an eBay consolidator to contact to handle my infrequent sales on ebay. I have a seller account on USACOINBOOK.COM, which only charges 2% on sales, AND STILL ALLOWS PAYPAL PAYMENTS TO PAYPAL ACCOUNTS (for now, at least). Anyone know of an eBay consolidator local to the Chicago northwest suburbs?

Hey - I have an account on usacoinbook.com - 2% sold item charge and normal PayPal processing, buying and selling. But the site is for coins - since you have been doing this a while, know of any eBay consolidator you would share?

you can't do it.........
it's a joke...........

PayPal is a FINANCIAL institution. Ebay is a selling platform, managed by god-knows-who, once removed from PayPal, with capability to place holds on payments in case of disputes. This final split from PayPal for money management takes away any fiduciary responsibility with PayPal. Just wait until the upcoming eBay data breach, where you SS# AND bank info, as well as other personal info are compromised, and your bank account goes overdrawn, along with other identity theft issues you will experience... have fun!

The 3% plus $.35 is just a shift from PayPal's pocket to eBay's - they still get the same 10% extortion amount they always (not always, really) have. But this way, they can get that 3% from more sources, in addition to what they take away from PayPal - and god help you if you have the money go into your PayPal account too!

PayPal forces you to provide a bank account and routing number for transfers out. This was also optionally used to cover ebay disputed that were settled in a buyer's favor, if the PayPal balance was insufficient. Same thing with a required credit card. PayPal made sure they were not exposed expenses out of their control.

We are an LLC... the reason we incorporate is to shield principles from personal liability... having to give SS # and DOB negates the shield. eBay has the bank info and can withhold payment... having a no OPT OUT or alternative to corporations is unacceptable

Exactly my sentiments! I don't want a selling platform with millions of users, having access to my bank acct or ss# which I keep offline for good reason! I only use a "junk" limited line credit card online (secured card), for ebay fees, and at gas stations, so if it's hacked, I can't lose more than $300. I use the "good" cards OFF the web at respected establishments only. Isn't there a class action lawsuit about this ebay nazi invasion yet???? Sign me up.

I want to sell coins on eBay as I have done for years. However, that is one category that they will not allow managed payments on. If I can’t opt out of manage payments, how can I sell coins on eBay?
