How do you make your pending payout your automatic shipping label funding source?

I've mistakenly used Paypal for my last 2 shipping labels because it was the default funding source.  How do I change that?   There doesn't seem to be anything I can see in shipping preferences.  I'd rather not have to do it manually so I avoid going to my Paypal account which has $0.00.  Anyone know?

Scroll to the bottom of the shipping labels screen. You'll see an option to use pending funds to pay for labels. Just check the box.

When you go to print your label, on the lower left side, click fund from pending payments before printing.

Always make sure that you check it before printing.

Do you mean when you are processing an order?   I don't mean that.  I want to set it up BEFORE I even attempt to print a label.  I want Paypal out of the picture.

I mean before you get to that screen.  There's no shipping preference you can set up before hand?

No, there's no way to do it beforehand that I know of. You see the option on the label printing screen. You can change it before you print the label.  If you ever need to change the payment source for the label you can change it as  needed.

Oh, and you only have to check it off once. It will stay the same until it is changed again. Of course, you always want to verify first before printing.

Re: How do you make your pending payout your automatic shipping label funding source?

That is checked off as shown above to use Pending on my other account and it continues to go to PayPal, which has a 0 balance. So PayPal charges the shipping to my PayPal MC and then takes that amount out of the business checking account. It is making a lot of small numbers to put into an accounting sheet. I want the shipping deducted from the Pending but marking it at the postage label page has not made that change happen. Is there someplace else I need to change? I did allow PayPal to be the source for shipping postage to use up that account and so now it is down to 0.  That is when I changed the 'dot' to Pending several weeks ago but the Pending is not being used. I get a weekly transfer, so money is almost always there.

OMG We understand we have to remember to select it now for EVERY label. We want to know HOW to set Pending Payments as the DEFAULT source for labels. Why is PayPal even still the default if we are on Managed Payments. Sorry but it’s a pet peeve and frustrating to me when the actual question isn’t addressed. Thx.

Just a suggestion here.....

I use my PP account  (also at zero balance) as my funding source for labels.   I set my PP account to fund from my credit card rather than PP balance or bank account, so when I print a label on eBay, the charge is paid by PP who then charges my credit card.

I do it this way so all my shipping charges are on one card and easily audited and recorded to my GL.  I also earn cash back on that card, so I am earning a small percentage on money that I am spending anyway.  If your going to spend it, may as well make it work twice for you.

This may or may not work for you, but its worth looking at and then decide what's best in your individual situation.
