Finally got forced into Managed Payments. Its an unorganized train wreck. Literally on day one my year long average of 11.3 items sold per day has gone to 3.4 per day in the first month of MP. Day one of MP zero sales after all of 2020 never having less than 6 on a day. Coincidence? Newp.
Ebay glitch is I just want to refund a buyer. There is a case of wrong item sent. Its correct its been 4281 sales since I last sent someone the wrong thing but it happened. Buyer was great and sent the wrong item on to the buyer it was suppose to go to. I got this buyers item return to sender back to me. I have since put it in the mail on my dime again and of course...........its stuck in the usps system. I have a case, it will get moving again, but I just want to refund my buyer and say thank you for your patience and help by giving him all his money back and "eventually" his item as well when the usps decided to wake up. All of this should be easy peasy right? I mean it was with paypal. NOT!
I have tried to refund every day for a week "Wait for the item to be shipped back to you or refund now". I press refund button, go through the motions and get an error message that the refund cant go through right now. The customer service (20 year near complete fail ratio for me) was a sweet english speaking lass from Ireland. Yeehaw no robotic book reader from phillipines. Well she tried and tried and wouldnt you know it.....................her only 2 options for me was "I can close the case now in the buyers favor(which rewards them their money and item) or you can refund them through paypal." Option 1 the buyer gets their money (good) and their item eventually (good) but the seller gets a defect on his account which can only be removed by going through the appeal process with another customer service dept...............HECK NO! The paypal option would be easy except...........I no longer keep a balance in paypal because I do not get paid there any longer and so that I can shipping with my credit card. Much easier than transferring money from checking to pay shipping and I get 2% back on the CC.
So in a nutshell..............do the right thing = more work for you, less money for you, and defects. Ebay again has zero negative effects and gets to keep the tax dollars since paypal paid them already. The only other way to refund this buyer is wait for the item to not get shipped back, close the case in my favor, and then MAYBE the glitch preventing me from refunding now will resolve itself and I can refund then through the transaction page instead of the return page.
Btw the part that always makes a 20+ year vet feel great about customer service here? She told me I could not refund and was getting the error because I have less than the $35.95 needed to refund. To which I replied $128 is greater than $35.95, and "I assure you that if I have no one red penny in my account ebay will sure as heck refund my buyer and give me a negative balance if they wanted to." So score another one for the failure that is ebay customer service. Wrong once, wrong twice, and absolutely zero outcome for the 1 hour 13 minutes wasted trying to use ebay the way its intended.
Who wants a pile of inventory?

Can you explain why you believe that the fact that you are now in Managed Payments vs Paypal has caused your sales to drop?

I'm sorry your sales have fallen off but it's not because you've been forced into managed payments. Buyers don't care if it is PayPal that puts the money in your PayPal account or if eBay does.
Your refund situation can't be blamed for doing the right thing. The right thing would've been to have each buyer open a wrong item received return (because they received the wrong item). Then you provide return labels and when tracking shows delivered back to you, you send the replacement or a refund. You keep all returns on eBay. You do this because some buyers might decide not to return the item or they wouldn't appreciate another buyer knowing their information.

Thank you but not correct. I did not take anything off ebay. I stopped a baseball glove going to florida. It was suppose to go to PR. The guy in PR got the florida buyers boat part. We sellers never know if a buyer will return or not. So i contacted both buyers. The Pr buyer already received wrong item. Florida buyer had not. The PR buyer sent the boat part for me to florida. It arrived quickly and florida buyer was happy. I stopped delivery of glove as it was delayed in mail anyway and returned to me. Glove is now headed to Pr but stuck in usps again. Buyer is aware. I just want to refund this good buyer. There is an option im staring at right now......."wait on item to be delivered or refund now."
I assure you ebay isnt trying to protect me by not letting me refund early or there would not be a button and info about doing so.

So the 1000s of posts complaining of the same problem makes me believe we are right. My updated spread sheet of sales stats kept up daily gives me proof "something" changed immediately the day paypal quit taking payments. The only proof i have is messages from buyers saying their payments wont go through. Not sure if that is THE reason but it sure as heck is A reason that im certain of. How many buyers do not contact the seller and just click amazon?
