When you sell on eBay you get paid to your bank account, and payouts are fast, easy, and secure. Here’s everything you need to know about getting paid and managing your earnings so you can sell with confidence.
eBay deducts fees and selling costs related to your sales from your funds prior to payout. Examples of eBay selling fees include but are not limited to: insertion fees, Promoted Listings, listing upgrades, and Store subscription fees. Learn more about how fees and selling costs are charged.
When you sell on eBay, you get paid directly to your bank account. Payouts are simple and secure. As a seller, you can streamline operations with access to everything you need all in one place—consolidated fees, customizable reports, refunds and returns, shipping labels, simplified protections, and if applicable, tax documentation (Form 1099Ks). If you use third-party tools that integrate with eBay APIs, you can manage your listings, inventory, and orders, reconcile transactions, and issue refunds.
If you need to change your bank account for any reason, you may update your account information in the Payments section in My eBay or, if you’re opted in, the Payments tab in Seller Hub.
Connecting your bank account to your eBay account does not permit eBay to share your bank details with other parties, nor does it permit us to deduct any other outstanding selling costs than those outstanding on your eBay account.
How does eBay protect my payments/financial details?
Your bank details are stored securely within eBay and end-to-end encrypted with the highest security standards. eBay never shares your bank account details with other parties and never presents any chargebacks for any costs other than those outstanding on your eBay account.
How are you protecting my personal information?
We only ask for the information we need to keep your data safe and pay out your earnings. The protection of your data is our priority. We have also simplified claim and seller protections to make your experience even easier.
As an additional security measure, eBay also supports two-factor authentication. We highly recommend that sellers leverage this additional layer of security. When two-factor authentication is enabled, sellers must authenticate the login credentials associated with their eBay account via SMS or push notifications if they have the eBay app on their iOS or Android device.
Remember: eBay never shares your personal bank account details and any personal financial data with other parties.
Why do you need my SSN, ITIN, EIN, and/or TIN?
Before sending payouts, eBay requires sellers to verify their identity and comply with know-your-customer and anti-money laundering (AML) obligations which help keep eBay a trusted marketplace. These details are required by most online marketplaces and payment providers that manage funds for users.
If you are a non-business seller, we require only the last 4 digits of the SSN/ITIN to register, though we may ask for the full identifier later, if required for tax compliance.
What are common reasons for needing further verification to receive payouts from eBay?
Below are some of the reasons we see verification failures. We recommend checking the following:

How can I change shipping labels to pay with my pending payouts?
To purchase labels with your funds and linked credit/debit card or bank account, you just need to choose Pending payouts under the Select how to pay section in eBay Labels prompt, as shown in the screen below. You may continue to pay for labels with PayPal as well. Learn more about paying for shipping labels in this Payments resources post, and the Help Hub.

Just a question. The above states:
"Connecting your bank account to your eBay account does not permit eBay to share your bank details with other parties, nor does it permit us to deduct any other outstanding selling costs than those outstanding on your eBay account."
In that case, what information is given to Adyen? That is the company used by eBay for payment processing, correct?

Please can you help me??
i have been selling on eBay for 20 years….I was asked to confirm my identity and I have uploaded documents several times, but my funds are being held and my account is still restricted. I even uploaded my birth certificate! Items are still being sold and I’m shipping them - I can’t reply to any messages from buyers and this is hurting my business! This is my only source of income and I have 3 children. I’ve chatted with customer service 7 or 8 times and also done the call back and nothing has helped! Please, please help me! I love selling on eBay and follow all of the rules. I just want to get this resolved, please!!
