Hello EBAY community, last Friday i came across a listing for a Playstation 5 for 550 dollars that had a remark of "contact me before buying", i contacted this new user from Tampa Florida and asked for instructions and he told me to use his personal Ebay link for the purchase which i did right away in the STRIPE payment platform, the money was charged to my credit card and everything seem to be running fine; i had no contact from him the whole weekend and he stopped answering emails regarding tracking number and shipment.
On Saturday i received from him the 2 invoices that had his home address and phone number, i called him several times and no answer, no email answer either during the whole weekend; today this user writes me asking if i received the invoice and if the payment did not go through i had to do another purchase?????.
My question is: if i don´t receive the package from him how can i start a claim on EBAY having in consideration that i didn´t use the EBAY payment platform but instead a ebay personal link?, thank you for your suggestions.

You can't.
You took the transaction off of Ebay, so they won't help.
You can report the seller, but it won't get your money back.

Seller's do not have "private" links for selling, ALL transactions are done through eBay
Sounds like you will want to call you're CC and inform them of the charge
Was this a new seller? sounds like a big scam

You conspired with this guy to cheat eBay out of their commission and now you expect them to help you? Smh...

you need to tell friend and family how not to buy electronics
I am sorry this happened but you can try to stop it from happening to folks you know
you should also stay away from gift cards

There’s no such thing as a “personal eBay link”. eBay will not help you, because you didn’t buy anything through their site, which means they didn’t get the fee for the sale. They are not involved in your attempted transaction in any way. You’re not new to eBay; why did you do this?
You were scammed. Contact your credit card company.

Yep... it's a matter for your CC. I suppose if you never receive the item, you have a claim. Hmmm...

Wait NOW you want to start a claim with ebay????
You did not buy the item using ebay. Why would you even think you could start a claim?
LOL
