I permanently have got the message, "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option." I had tried to use several of my credit card and PayPal. The Number, CVV, Date are OK. These cards fully work everywhere except e-Bay. I sure of this because half hours ago successfully paid on B&H. Also, my bank told me they even didn't see a transaction was being attempted from e-Bay or Pay-Pal and any other transaction while I had been making payment on e-Bay.
May someone can help or know how to resolve this issue? FAQ doesn't have an answer. Call by phone isn't a good idea because I live in 12 hours a different timezone.
Make sure your seller ships to Ukraine, and also accepts payment from there.
If your seller is new to selling or does not normally sell overseas, the seller may not have set up the PayPal account to accept payment from banks in all locations.
Even if you use a shipping service in the seller's country to forward your shipment, the seller may be blocking payments that originate from countries the seller does not ship to.
I'm having this same problem right now. Tried two different cards and Paypal, and none of them worked. Tried on Firefox, Edge, Chrome, and Android app. No luck.
I had been in conversation with support. They can't resolve the issue. The payment system declined my cards and no report on why. However, eBay can use this card to charge me as a seller. It is sadly and strange situation.
I am currently having that issue. Right now i have committed to buy but none of my payments will work. I don't want a bad review because i didn't pay. So i guess im asking did you ever get it fixed?
I was able to have it resolved by having eBay call me by using "Contact Us" menu at the bottom of eBay pages.
It seems that if payment attempt was flagged as suspicious by some reason (billing/shipping addresses difference for example) then your order is blocked from other payment attempts for some time at least.
And you have to talk to "managed payments department" to have that block removed from your order to make a successful payment. And you can enter US/Canada phone number only to have them call you.
Also same issue: none of the payment options (true and tried before) accepted. neither is being reported to the card issuer's side. it seems that Ebay fails at making some checks on their side, only to report back a meaningless message "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option."
Had a chat with support. Was connected to someone from Payments team. After a while their staff pushed the transaction through. I did not change anything, merely re-entered the same details as before. For that particular transaction is was OK. Few days later - exactly the same issue with the same card etc.
I'm having this issue as well, both when trying to pay via credit card and through Paypal (although trying to pay through Paypal gives me a different error message). I honestly have no idea how Ebay has let this problem become persistent. This is a major error on their side and they need to get their stuff together.
