Email requesting ID and copy of bank statement

Has anyone else received this email?   Without sending this my payouts would be on hold.  I don't have any pending payouts now anyway.  the email is no.replay@ebay.com

This is the link I was asked to send the information to

https://ocsnext.eBay.com/ocs/mudcwf?deptName=HCR

Anyone else receive this, is it a scam?

Thanks

Sure looks odd to me. Starting with 'noreplay@ebay.com'

Yeah, right.................

@lynnsbayshop ,

did you type the return email yourself? If so, that would explain the typo (easy mistake to make ... my fingers keep typing the wrong words too).

The link looks good. It is an eBay page, and it's just a page where you can upload the files that they asked for.

Thank you, @lacemaker3. I don't click links (but see typos), and I'm certainly glad you stopped by.

Re: Email requesting ID and copy of bank statement

@mtgraves7984 ,

I check out all links before I click on them ... in this case, I could see that the first one (the email address) was probably created automatically by the browser when the OP typed an email address format.

And the second one was definitely an eBay domain, because of the text at the beginning of the URL.

By the way, @lynnsbayshop , if you go to the second link, it should greet you with your first name as it is registered on your eBay account, because it is a legitimate eBay link. This is what I see (with my name grayed out):

That email is from eBay and you have to submit those documents. You can contact eBay live support for make sure about that. Thanks

Re: Email requesting ID and copy of bank statement

I also received that email.  Apparently, whoever wrote it does not believe in using spaces between words and after periods.  I was also told not to submit bank statements with "hided" information.  I thought it was a scam too until I saw the same message in my eBay message box.

Re: Email requesting ID and copy of bank statement

When I uploaded my  bank statement all "transaction details" were blacked out before uploading.

I would think the not "hided" would only apply if this was verifying eBay "micro deposits" sent by eBay used to verify an account.

Re: Email requesting ID and copy of bank statement

I am very concerned now. I just sent the dl and bank statement on the ebay website. OMG. I thought it was authentic and since I went to the ebay website and uploaded it from there I thought I was safe but now I am very very concerned.  It seemed legit :(:(:( I guess I better change my bank account asap. I am going to write ebay customer service about this. I thought it was weird since they already had my info.

Maybe they are just preparing for next years tax situation. We cant make more than $600 in 2022 without being reported. Now it is around 20k.

If you learned anything more about this please advise
