Ebay payouts

The way Ebay does the payouts makes it SO difficult come tax time. I need to be paid out my net on each item. The way you show it now, you are taking out label charges on another sale from proceeds of a different item. It really makes my bookkeeping a mess. When I sell an item, I need the gross sale for ME, then the shipping charge taken out, the Ebay fee out, and my NET on each sale/item. That way I know what I received per item so when the bank deposit is paid, it all matches up. Right now it is a nightmare for the tax man and me. If it's several item payouts going to the bank, I need to see a breakdown on each for the total. I am having to go in and trying to figure out what you did each time. Anyone else having issues like that?

Re: Ebay payouts

So unless you mingle your funds, what you receive from ebay is your net, except for your cost of good sold. Since I have a regular storefront I give my accountant my net sales from ebay and other online venues, and my gross sales from the store, my cost of good sold and so on. I do have my online payments go into a special account, and I buy all my shipping on ebay so all I need is how much I received.

Re: Ebay payouts

I record each transaction so I know what the buyer paid, what I paid in fee's and shipping for each order.

At tax time, click a few buttons and have all the information I need.

Have A Great Day.

Re: Ebay payouts

I just print out a total for the year, which is a gross.  https://www.ebay.com/sh/performance/sales I change the dates for the full year.  This page also give total of postage paid, seller fees, returns, etc.

@bigbear835oh

What I do is set my payouts to monthly. Then as each order payment clears into my eBay Managed payment account, I send a deposit to my bank for each order transaction that has cleared. Luckily, I don't have to worry about shipping labels being deducted as I use Pirate Ship and the shipping label payments come out of my PayPal account attached to my Pirate Ship account.  All that comes out of my eBay payments are the selling fees and taxes.
