Ebay managed payment very unfriendly and poor processing time ...

I have been forced to opt in for “ Managed Payment “ .. I have already had 2 sales and discovered the payments have not arrived in my bank account . This having effected my shipping. I try to ship within 1 to 3 days of purchase . Now I have been istructed by Ebay representative payments have 2 day processing by Ebay , then possibly more days depending on the bank . When weekends are involved it seems it could be many days before payments arrive . I am firmly against this forced payment processing . I should be able to decide what form of payment I accept . I was perfectly happy with Paypal for 20 years . Now Im considering a different way to sell online . This was a very bad idea for Ebay to force buyers and sellers into this  .

There is an initial cash flow issue that may be difficult for some sellers.

It was nice having PP "front" the money, but as this is not the way it is done on MP, it is just a matter of getting by the initial, (hopefully) lag, then the "payouts" will flow on a fairly regular basis.

My "business model" works OK with weekly (Tuesday) payouts that are in my CU on Wednesday.

I opted in a year ago. It sounds like you were just forced to join.

With that being said, to help you with the fund 'lag time', you can ship from your Pending payments. Shimmy down to the bottom of the Label page and choose that option. It will become your new default. Good luck.

Re: Ebay managed payment very unfriendly and poor processing time ...

You have the opportunity to sell within the parameters of eBay or any other platform you choose. EBay did not force you, they made changes to their business model and you either choose to adapt or take another path.

Your decision to stay or go is completely yours. Change is always inevitable, adaptability is your choice.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving,

Grandma

PS. Buyers are only effected by Managed Payments if the seller does not read and understand shipping via pending payments and hold their buyers items unnecessarily. Hence, it is the seller and not Managed Payments that effect the buyer.

Re: Ebay managed payment very unfriendly and poor processing time ...

I depend on Paypal instant payments . I use PayPal for all my purchases and payments . Grocery shopping , shipping etc . My daily work and family expenses often depend on selling and receiving  immediate payment . By saying forced , Ebay advised me if I don’t except managed payments I can no longer sell on Ebay platform . I consider that a type of enforcement . I make my living on this platform .

Thank you for the option . Im very unfamiliar with the new seller hub page . I don’t have the option to print labels , I hand address my packages . I appreciate the advice .

Re: Ebay managed payment very unfriendly and poor processing time ...

Get a debit card for the checking account that is attached to managed payments. Use it as you would use PayPal for purchases. Or transfer money from that account back into PayPal, although that would take a few more days. If you're doing this for a living, you can make it work for you. Like many changes, it's just awkward at first.
