Did you mean:

Ebay, I'm not leaving!

Instead, I'm asking for an opt-out option from MP for Casual Sellers — and to keep using Paypal. Ability to access funds immediately is a matter of survival for many of us.

Please consider it.

Ebay, I'm not leaving!

Gosh... it's getting too literal in here, perhaps?

Try any justifications you wish but let me ask one thing — to simplify our discussion

You will be kind enough to answer it as honestly as you can, okay?

Here it goes: If you were given the choice, what would you choose — Paypal (same as it was) or MP?

Sorry, but I doubt your demise, as you put it, will be on eBay's conscience.

Ultimately it is your choice to leave, no one else's

@ulfesharpe

I'll bite. I opted into MP during August, 2019. Back then... it was a slow, slow, slow, awful mess. My wait time on payments (to become mine) were anywhere from 6-14 days. All shipping costs were paid out-of-pocket... no shipping from 'Pending'. It took me nearly a whole quarter to adapt... and by that I mean to keep my bank account or my Seller Metrics from taking any 'dings'. Back then... I'd have RUN back to PayPal.

All this time later (and as MP has improved) and I can tell you that now it makes no difference to me between the two.

Now, my buyer's payments are my bank deposits in 3 business days. I have never experienced a payment not go all the way to 'Completed', once it begins 'Processing'. The option to use 'Pending' funds for shipping costs is attractive (although I still debit my bank account), and the fees coming out up front works well.

I've decided that (much like your title)... "eBay, I'm not leaving", works for me, too. MP is doable. Good luck to you.

PP was fine until they decided that they needed to keep the entire fee when there was a cancellation, or refund for any reason. In some instances that fee was retained for doing nothing.

Big reason for the fees is buyer/seller protection.  They got that %age to protect a seller in a transaction when it went south.

When there is a cancel request by the buyer shortly after paying there is no reason why PP needed that fee to cover anyone.  They did nothing. $0.30 covered their electronic process. No reason to keep the other $10, other than they changed the UA saying that they would keep that money for basically doing nothing.

I have had some cancellations since being in MP.  My fees were refunded when the buyer was refunded, (except that same  $0.30 fee) so my preference is to stay in MP.

My fees in MP are very close to before MP.  I have added a few pennies to the lower price items, and a few $$ on the items where the market will bear such an increase.

My business model can stand the "payout" delay.  I do "weekly".

Thank you for your reply. Ok MP is doable, I don't doubt that... but come on, a transfer taking 3 business days? Is this 2021?

Most of the things I buy (to collect or trade or sell) disappear in auctions or shops or collector's circles after a few hours. I use the money I make here to buy more stuff to sell and keep things running. Things are decided in minutes, a few hours.. not 3 days. How I am supposed to do that from my own freaking bank account? PP is the perfect tool for this. I mean, we (a collective "sellers" we) got this far because we were able to move quickly, buy things, trade things quickly, etc, etc. Online buying/selling it's not the village fair on Tuesdays! Going to the fair on horse carts and round hats is over and done with, people! (well perhaps not in PA, I hear, but that's another matter.)

3 business days to get your money... And what are they doing with our cash all that time? Buy and selling bitcoins and stock at every beat of the clock most likely — in fact what they're doing with MP is turning eBay into a large fiduciary bank and have of all us lending them huge amounts of money everyday and we, the lenders, don't see a single cent of interest from the millions they can make in 3 days. ZERO. There is no advantage in this for you, no matter how you look at it.

So to answer my own question — PP every time.

Ebay, I'm not leaving!

My payments don't go to PP, but from time to time i\I scoot some money on over there to cover things if I want to buy something on the internet, or do a "friends & family transfer" on a birthday.

This is 2021, but it takes 3 or more days for PP to have that money that I transfer.

This is 2021.   I want to pay my CC balance. I know this is stupid, but I want to pay the current balance, not just what is due "as of" on the statement.  Pay up. May not have any more purchase for the next statement.

Now the problem is..............   I can quite do what I want to at this time.  There are purchases "pending" that can not be paid yet.  Online purchase. Part of the order has been delivered. Other part shipped, but I can not pay for it because it is still "pending". This is 2021, but everything is not instantaneous😊

Although I feel for anyone living hand to mouth, eBay can't have sellers that have no money to refund buyers if there are issues.  If you are truly using your funds right away, and that is the only thing keeping you from financial ruin, what happens if an item is damaged in transit, lost in the mail, or buyer claims it is not as described, and needs to return?

Truth is that the hand-to-mouth sellers are horrible for the buying experience.  At the end of the day, we can't have you ruin eBay because of your personal financial situation.  Best of luck to you.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I'd take MP over PayPal.  There are a lot of benefits.  I didn't hate PayPal, but I do prefer MP.

Managed Payments, I get cash back with my debit card purchases, and don't have to send $$ from PayPal to my bank to pay the light bill.
