Cant accept payment error

I have tried to buy several items but keep getting this error

"One or more sellers can't accept payments right now. Contact the sellers for help."

what is the meaning of this and is anyone getting this?

how does it get resolved?

Both sellers that gave the error are overseas, could this be the reason?

I was able to buy something from an american seller

maybe ebay is having currency issues?

Sellers have to set up an account with paypal and have the proper link in each listing for a payment to transfer thru ebay to paypal......  If they have set up the pp account and/or link incorrectly the payment will not go thru.....which is what this sounds like.  Kind of like having to put a bank account number in somewhere......but one number is wrong so it doesn't work.

that is interesting but 2 things come up 

1) if PP was an issue I would think it would offer me another way to pay for it, I have banking I could pay for it also

and

2) what are the chances that two sellers I try to buy from have the same issue?

Sounds like a glitch to me.  Many others have stated they could not pay for items.

Perhaps this explains the sharp drop in sales recently?

Are you able to commit to buy the item?  Does it show up in your awaiting payment list?  I think others have said that if you try to pay from there, that it worked.

I received that error this week.  Contacted the seller in China (I would never purchase from a seller in China, but hubby wants the item).  Seller replied asking if I was using a phone to purchase, and if I have a P.O. Box.  I use neither one.  I use a desktop computer and have a physical address.

I kept purchasing using the checkout in Purchase History, in Checkout, from the listing, etc.  Nothing worked.  I asked the seller to file a Cancellation.  Instead, he filed an Unpaid Item Dispute.  I called CSR and was advised to let the strike be recorded, and then call them back, and the strike will be removed.

Are the sellers new to selling? It is possible that they have not set up their accounts properly to receive payments from buyers in other countries.

Trying another payment method might not be a bad idea, but it will not help if the seller cannot accept payments in US dollars.

If the sellers are both new, chances are higher. If the sellers are seasoned international sellers, it is less likely that is the problem.

the seller is not new since they have over 70K feedback

and ebay doesnt allow or ask me another way to pay for it since all it does is give the error

so still waiting for anyone to give an explanation of the error or anyone saying they have seen the error

no, it does not let me commit, I select Buy Now and it sends me to the page with the error
