Sellers,
We’ve made it easier for you to register for managed payments by introducing a new method to safely verify your bank account using microdeposits.
With this new method, eBay will make two microdeposits in unique amounts to your bank account to verify that we have the correct bank account information for you. The microdeposits will usually post to your bank account within 1-3 business days.
To identify the microdeposits, look for 2 small microdeposits in your account transaction history. Once you receive the deposits, you may return to eBay’s registration site to enter the amounts you received. Once verified, you will receive an email confirming your account. We’ll withdraw the amount of the microdeposits from your bank account typically within 3 business days.
If the amounts you enter do not match eBay’s records, you must verify your account using an alternative verification method.
In addition to microdeposits, you may also link your account directly to your seller account using eBay’s bank log-in feature.
We’re excited to be offering a simpler way for Sellers to verify their bank account for managed payments.
As always, thank you for selling on eBay.

This is the Chinese social credit system being introduced to America via Ebay. The microdeposits never arrive and even if they do after months of waiting, Ebay tells you that you erred in entering them correctly. What's with the "Trustly" company demanding you grant them power of attorney and the ability to access you entire credit history, all account numbers and PIN numbers along with security questions & answers? They can suspend your account without warning beforehand or explanation afterward. That's worse than Mafia loan sharks. You have no recourse if they keep all your earnings because they claim that they were acting as your agent no matter how much damage they cause you. Are you freaking kidding me?

Is this easier..... NO!! Where's the steps for this process?? Actually, this discourages me from selling again.
There was a red flag on your Seller Hub that gave instructions.

What is not simple is not getting paid when someone buys something What you should offer is the ability for people to get paid before an item is delivered. That is the way the world works. Want to buy something you pay the person who has the item before you get to it delivered or before you get to take it home from a store. I have been a customer of ebays for 15 years. Really since close to the beginning of its growth. During that time i have never once not paid, not sent or received an item and zero bad feedback. I only have like 170 feedbacks but have bought tons and tons of items. So now i decide to start selling a little bit here and there and to my surprise my money is being held until the item is delivered. Which until recently never happened. I could see tat being a policy for a new customer but someone who has been around 15 yrs? Even if i had shipped they could have held my money till the 24th december. Come on. It is funny that the moment they stop using PayPal there are more issues than you can count. They are worried about the buyer but the seller is the person who pays ebay? Hope other recreational sellers will complain or leave the site.

With no recent selling........ in eBays eyes................... you are a new seller, and subject to new seller policy.
Sorry, but that is how it works. You could have gone rogue since last selling😁

Do you work for ebay? Have you been a member for 15yrs? For them to count someone who has done business on the site for years as a new seller is ludicrous. I took down ever item i had for sale, and canceled every item that was being sent to people. Just think logically for one moment, I am the seller, i now have to ship and item to someone i do not know that has less feedback than me and they are being granted more concern than someone who has spent 1000's upon 1000's of dollars on ebay. They have the ability to go back and look. Oh and i have received a payment since they changed processing before the item was shipped. It is all a crock in my opinion. What does going rogue even mean? I want to use ebay, i have never complained about the the fee they take, i get it. But you are taking the fee from me and now i have to wait while the buyer gets their item. The sick thing is there are so few sites to sell on they have you. Luck for me i will simply sell locally or to friends.

I have been a seller on ebay since the start. Never had a problem or complaint. I recently sold a couple items and was shocked to see you held both payments on the individual items. One of them, your holding for over a month?? I went ahead and changed the information on my bank, hoping that will help. But still I am very offended by this kind of treatment after years or being a good buyer and seller.
Also, on one of my sales you charged the buyer seven dollars for shipping. I had specified in the listing that the charge should reflect the actual cost to ship the item. The item was 26 inches long and weighed 7 pounds, so there is no way the seven dollars would cover my costs. I went ahead and paid 31 dollars to ship the item to the customer since it was not his fault. Then you have the nerve to list that I was late shipping the item? The item was shipped the next day like I always do.
Very disappointing.

Gone rogue: you may have turned into a bad seller after having a good record in the past.
No, I do not work for eBay, but by experience I am familiar with some of the policies.
I have been selling for over 20 years. (not on this account)
If I were to start to sell on this account I also would be considered a "new seller" even with 5 years with this ID, 20 years on another, and 15 on a 3rd.
Yes, they could go back to look, but they don't. Account could have been hacked/stolen.
You do not have enough recent sales to get out of "new seller" status.
In my, means nothing opinion, eBay's main reason for holds is to protect eBay from financial loss when a seller takes the money, and runs leaving eBay to refund a buyer.
Sometimes the hold is triggered by the amount of the sale.
Some info here on holds if you have not read it:

Well you soUnd like you work for eBay. My point is the policy does not help the people that support eBay. Hey if you are okay waiting to be paid good for you. But it is bad business. I own businesses and no one waits to get paid like that, unless you have a credit history with that company. eBay is trying to protect itself, sure that make sense, but the get their f..ing money right away and they aren’t selling **bleep**. So please go and ask eBay for a job because what you have to say holds no water with me. If yoh go to their payment policy page it says nothing about holding payments for existing sellers and customers. It says sometimes. Why would anyone assume they would hold their money who has been active for years? Let me answer that they would not. So I am expecting my money tomorrow and now I find out they can hold till the 24th? On another note A seller did not pay me 12k for a comic book and they did nothing. Had to wait a week to cancel. I lost another sale because of it. They are full of **bleep**. Worst custmer service ever. I have no idea why you are even posting. I clearly I know the policy now. That link says nothing about holding money for exist eBay customers. Most people are recreational sellers and buyers and soon someone will do it better. So thanks for being zero help. I was posting to make others aware not have some dude with 3 accounts tell me what is up, Hahahha.

Additionally, we may place a transaction hold on funds depending on your seller status or the category you're selling in:
High priced items or unusual selling patterns may lead to transaction holds for up to 30 days to help us ensure that buyers don't have any issues with the order
11-25-2021 07:37 PM
I have no idea why you are even posting.
--------------------------------------------------
Posted to attempt to assist in explaining the hold, but as you are not open to any information I will refrain from any added info after this post.
Info gets posted so that some reading in the future can select from provided Bay policy info vs. misinformation.

The email you got telling you they were going to do this should have instructions in it for how to confirm it.
If you can't find that, go to your Seller Hub. There should be a red flag on it about this vary subject. Click on whatever they tell you to click on in the notification.

What @buyselljack2016 told you is accurate information. They are often on the threads helping others that are having one kind of issue or another. You came here with a question. Because you don't like the answer or don't agree with the answer you got is no reason to try and throw shade and potential insults at them for simply trying to help you. Now that is "ludicrous".
But since you don't trust someone trying to help you, read the policies and learn for yourself that it is accurate info.

This is a member to member discussion board. It is rare for an actual Ebay employee to be on a thread. But if they were to come, they are well labeled with the Ebay logo and a box around their post.
You are falling under the same issues as the other seller. Read these links carefully. This is a LONG standing rule and nothing new at all.

AS to your problem with the shipping amount. Ebay didn't just throw some number into the calculator for you, it went by the information you put into the screen. So you will want to look at it carefully as you made some error in what you put into the calculator. Sorry, it happens from time to time to many sellers.

Since you are new to posting on the Community forums, you might want a bit more experience with that before passing judgement on some posters.
The rule that you take issue with has been around for many years. It isn't new and it isn't going to go away. It is there for very good reasons. You may not like the reasons or agree with them, but then Ebay doesn't require that anyway.
Assuming is rarely a good thing to do on any subject.
