The new Groups layout

It looks like the new layout is finally in work. To start off I had to authourize 39 photo's in the moderation section. Some of these look very old but I ask you check out the photo albums and see if some of yours has been deleted or is missing from your original entries. Having looked around the new layout for awhile I have found it a bit confusing, so I guess a person will have to experiment a bit and go through all the sections. What I have found out almost right away is that you will be signing in more, maybe because they said in one place or another that other folks could look at the site as non members but would have to sign in to participate, Still looking at this one. They have set the topics up like some other sites where you have scroll through all the pages to get to the latest entries. I just went to the preview section to look at what I have wrtten here and it went into the sign in page and when I signed in I lost all I had punched in, had to use the back button to get back again. Confussion-Confussion, sure hope they get it working better than it is. Jack just went to the preview section and it worked this time.

O don't want to spend 10 minutes trying to fix up a post to get past the violation alert when I should be able to post in 1 minute. It is frustrating trying to figure out what is wrong with the post.

What was wrong in your post was the word s u c k s , all the rest were OK. Plain english is what is required and politicaly correct wording. They have now set up the spell checker to bump out a lot of the double meaning words used today. I worked half a hour and found out that plain old english does the trick. I can live with that. Jack

I tried the photo upload yesterday and it didn't work, but it did today! Can't see very well right now, just got home from the eye doctor and he put those drops in. Will look around more tomorrow!

Notice the color change in the discussion list? Move your mouse over it and you will see that the reddish colored dot is the new indicator for an updated thread you should read. They're still working on it. Jack, I found the envelope. It's very subtle.

Pete, Yes I found the coloured dots this morning and the upon opening the thread it went to the last entry made the same as we had with the old layout. Much better than scrolling. It appears they are still upgrading, so maybe in a weeks or so we will basically be back to where we were with the old, only with a new colour scheme. Jack

Please note a quirk here that happens to me. If there is only one page of posts in a thread, when you go to it, you will only get the last post to that thread and there seems to be no way to scroll back to older posts. If you change your preferences to newest first, you will see all the posts on that one page and the rest in reverse order.

Dave How were your pics rejected by being over size or what? I had the same problem and found they had to be resized down to 300KB or smaller. I just tried resizing one and it was accepted. I just found a great free program that resizes, it seems to work well. I am going to download a couple more and see how they go. if you need this program let me know and I will post it. Jack

Hey folks Has anybody had a problem with loading a pic to your album. I loaded a couple and then took them out cause I didn't like them. Now I can't load anything at all. It just keeps saying all my photo's are to large even though they have been resized. Dave had trouble and then it looks like he got back in to load some---What's up-- Jack

I'm not having any trouble, but my pics are all resized by my adobe photo shop. I think most of them are well under 300KB. BTW, have you noticed that you can't scroll through the pictures in someone's album? I have to go back to the thumbnails each time to click on a picture to look at. Just tried to post a message and used spell check and got another 404 error message. Page could not be found. Been trying for three days to get loged in. Also lost the post I was working on. All my firewalls are off and still can't navigate arround here. Chuck:-(

Yeah, I noticed the navigation took a giant leap backwards in the photo albums. Very aggravating.

Someday soon, I hope that they get the bugs out and make it as easy as it is to buy or sell on ebay. At the same time us old goats can get used too some of the modern computer layout they came up with for us. Lou
