Has anyone used Brick Morter from Roberts' Products Co.? I am looking to be able to create a realistic brick look of a weathered brick building. I have some brick sheets and want to eventually build a building covered with brick but need to know the best way to get the sheet material to look more ah er bricky. Dot had a brick building in a photo album somewhere and if you can remember it, that is the look I am after. I guess my question is what is the best way to get brick sheet material to look more natural with morter lines and aging. Gene

Gene, Are you making too much trouble for yourself again? The V3 pack contains the opposite of what you need. From looking at it, you would need the exact opposite numbers of left and right turnouts to reverse the yard. If you use the turnouts in the package, and you can, you will not get the same configuration or mirror image that you want. B-)

Gene, Did you see the article in the January MR about using colored pencils for bricks? You paint the whole building the color of the mortar you want, then when it is dry, you rub colored pencils over the bricks to color them. It looks cool and very NOT-messy, unlike the reverse with the application of the mortar over the painted wall. B-)

I received the Roberts brick mortar-put it to work on a small area of sheet brick. A simple wipe on wipe off technique. It came in a 1 oz.bottle a light grayish color and dryed about the same color. Then proceeded to use the Prismacolor pencil at a low angle and the results look pretty good. I like the way the mortar lines are visable and it is the effect I wanted. Now will have to do a project -maybe a nice small brick outhouse!! Gene
