Thought you might ike to see what will be painted on the back of the old train station in Syracuse NY honoring our rail history. It now is a news 10 station but the mural looks to be pretty nice! http://www.news10now.com/content/about_us/train_mural/ Gene

Very interesting. My boss is going up to Cicero to look at some property I found for him soon. Too bad it isn't finished or I would have him take some pictures!!!

That's cool Gene. When it is finished, let us know so we can see it all. B-)

While at the LHS today I mentioned about the mural and he said he goes by it everyday on 690 (a divided highway) and looks at it each time he goes by. It must be already up on the building. I'll have to check it out next time I go that way. Gene

Hi Gene, A beautiful Dreyfuss Hudson. This is one of my favorite locomtives, peculiar to the NYCS. They ruled the tracks then, with their streamlined look, when the "airflow" look was all the vogue. I'm glad that the city is remembering the golden days. Chappy

Chappy, Good to hear from you. I am learning about the 20th Century Express or as was called the Limited. It apparently is the most famous train in the USA! Going from NYC to Chicago and Chi Town to the Big Apple with very few stops - thus the Express name. 15 or so hours one way. It ran from 1902 to 1967 and was mostly sleeper cars. Pretty interesting history and pretty long running route! Gene

I remember you telling us that you live in Cicero Gene! If I should make the trip with my boss, I'll let you know. I will be sure to bring my camera too (which I always do on a site inspection) and take some shots of this "wall".
