I have an A1416 Model no. 3rd generation iPad and my eBay app has expired but when I click on the update button it says the app is unavailable in the uk store. Has my iPad become too old to use the eBay app now? I use the app a lot on my iPad and don't often refer to the website.

When I clicked the My Ebay there wasn't a Settings option. What do I do now?

I'm having the same issues as everyone else in the thread above - the eBay app has expired, and you cannot update it through the Appstore, since the new one requires you to have at least iOS 10 (which doesn't run on older versions of the iPad).
Now, I'm a software programmer IRL (albeit not related to software for Apple or eBay), and I think the explanation may actually be that eBay has been forced to update the app in order to comply with recent terms, set forth by Apple, for app developers to continue using the Appstore.
I read that Apple recently pushed out a new SDK for app developers to use, and in doing so Apple eventually also forces all app developers to update their apps to support the new screen layout of the iPhone X..
The drawback is the support for iOS version less than 10 has been dropped, and thus those of us that still makes good use of our old hardware are left stranded!
Please correct me if I'm wrong - this is just my guess..
Keep this in mind the next time you are considering buying a product from Apple 🙂

Followed link but had the same result. Ideally the app needs to made backwards compatible with iOS 9.3.5 or reinstate the older version of the app ,which seems to work well for those on devices which are not updateable to iOS 10.

It seems the only way iPad users without iOS 10 is to access eBay through your browser. This rather defeats the object and when eBay start losing sales they may see the error of their ways and provide a suitable app. What idiots they are!

Hi, running 9.3.5 on my iPad 2, downloaded latest eBay version from App Store, works with no problems, the only downside is no shortcut icon so have to leave it running or reopen it again.

eBay pride themselves as the No1 up cycling site yet the latest update for the EBay app no longer works if your IPad doesn't have IOS 10
Big Mistake EBay you have now switched off lots of existing users of your app. I never use the desktop version and I find this very frustrating. Can we have a version that is supported for use on IPads with IOS 9.35 even if we don't get future updates it would be something

That doesn't work if your Ipad is only IOS9.3.5. older IPads don't upgrade to IOS10 or better.......what a major error by Ebay

I am having what seems like the same issue. I have and iPad Air2 with the latest iOS ( 11.2.6 ). Every time I enter the app, a notification comes up in the middle of the screen and tells me “Update Required. This version has expired. Please update your app now.”. I update my app everytime I am notified. I checked the version and it says 5.18.1, which is the current version. When the notification comes up I choose “Update” it goes to the App Store , I choose open , (update does not appear), and it enters the app. Can you please fix this annoying issue?
