iOS app upgrade, older versions no longer supported

If you have been notified to update your eBay app, here are the steps to take to get the latest version onto your device. You need to have iOS 14 or higher to get the latest version from the Apple App Store

  • Open the App Store app on your device
  • Search for eBay app in the App Store
  • Select ‘Update’ button next to the eBay app title

Link to Apple App Store:

https://apps.apple.com/cg/app/ebay-buy-sell-and-save-money/id282614216

iOS 12 - If your device is running iOS 12 you might be able to install an older version from the App Store

  • Delete the ebay app from the device
  • Open the app store app
  • Tap account button
  • Tap Purchased
  • Scroll to the eBay app and tap the cloud and down arrow icon

If your device cannot be upgraded to iOS 12 you can use the Safari browser to access ebay.

Thank you and let us know if you have any troubles getting these updates to work.

Re: iOS app no longer supported on older systems

I am sorry to see this! I haven't been able to update my phone. It still opporates on iOS9.

And the only browser that really works for your site is a regular computer. I hope you will reconsider and reinstate the old EBay App.

Re: iOS app no longer supported on older systems

I have the exact problem with my iPad 2,  can't update or even use the eBay AP.  SO I go to Apple.com on my computer and in Support, I asked about not being able to update eBay on my iPad 2.  What a slew of answers but none address the problem nor mentions iPad issues.

One came close and stated that I need to purchase the new updated Apple product. What?????

What a great way to get rid of millions of eBay Sellers and Buyers to purchase a new Apple product!

@duff**man

What browser (type and version) are you using? Have you tried another browser?

What exactly is not working for you?

Are you using Safari? What happens when you open the browser on your phone and navigate to ebay.com?

Chrome and Firefox are popular browsers that are worth trying if you are having problems with Safari. But Safari should work, so I am curious what problems you are experiencing.

Re: iOS app no longer supported on older systems

Yes safari on iPhone 6 and it gos to the site etc but won't let me select some boxes on the top and also when I get into my selling page it displays a message in a box about features but will not actually let me close the box rendering the whole thing pretty useless.

Re: iOS app no longer supported on older systems

@duff**man

Is that the latest version of Safari for your particular OS?

If it is or if updating does not allow you to check those boxes, I would suggest trying another browser to see if that makes a difference. Also worth trying if you have not already: requesting the desktop site version of the page by tapping and holding the refresh button, and choosing "request desktop site" when the menu appears.

If you have a message box that pops up but cannot be dismissed, you might be able to open the same page in another browser (possibly on a desktop PC) and then permanently dismiss the popup from your account that way.

Re: iOS app no longer supported on older systems

The point is none of us should have to mess about like that when there was an app that worked fine!

Re: iOS app no longer supported on older systems

I’m on iOS 14.2. STILL doesn’t work. Deleted app and reloaded. Nothing. Thanks EBay; it was fun while it lasted. I’m out for good. You suck.
