iOS 13.3
eBay App version 5.42.0
This has been an issue for SEVERAL YEARS. All we want to do is have meaningful notifications on our mobile devices, ie Won an Auction or Sold an Item or an Item was Delivered.
What most of us don’t want is a meaningless notification for a watched item. Regardless of whether you want it or not, there’s no way to turn it off. Specifically, I do not want a badge app notification number on my eBay app for a watched item. All my settings in the app are appropriate. Under shopping updates, only the offer updates is selected. People have recommended fixes where you change settings to your account preferences on the website, I’ve tried those too. I still get notifications regarding watched items I have never bid on or made an offer on. Watching items is a useful way to bookmark an item for sale, but it simply breaks the usefulness of mobile device notifications.
The only options we have are to completely disable notifications which we don’t want to do or stop using the item watch function. Please, we’ve waited long enough, just fix this. You can find threads asking for a fix going back at least 3 years. You are a $30 billion company and this could be fixed with a few hundred dollars of one of your app developer’s time.

I don't get it. I thought I'd accidentally "watched" some of these items, but nope. I'm getting reminders for items I only just looked at... and only for random ones? What's the thinking? Since I read how this is annoying so many, why isn't eBay fixing this?? **bleep**. This company loves irritating its users!

If you can share some item numbers here or emailing us we can check into why the notifications showed up. iosfeedback@ebay.com
