Cannot update app on an older iPhone. Other family members have the same issue. Cannot load an older version. Going to lose an awful lot of customers if you don’t sort this out. Click to update and end up in an inescapable loop!

Instructions here: How to update your eBay app
- Requires Android 10 or better
- Requires iOS 17 or better, but there are directions for iOS 16 users to download an older version of the app
If you have iOS 15 or Android 9 and cannot update to a compatible OS, you can still access eBay from a web browser on your device, and you'll probably want to delete the app so links open in your browser instead of the app.

Thanks. Works but a pain as the app is much more user friendly. Why on earth they decided to exclude so many users from being able to access the app is a mystery!

Old versions of an app can't be updated and eventually age out of use when they're no longer compatible with new features and operating systems.
When using old devices other apps and even websites will eventually stop working. Tech becomes obsolete over time - often sooner than we consumers would like considering how expensive it is.
The good news is you can still access eBay via the web until you are ready to upgrade your device.
