UPDATE EBAY APP

I’ve been trying for ages to Update my existing eBay app. Followed 

the instructions, uninstalled the

App to no avail. The same message still pops up. “This version has expired update app now”. I wish I could! My iPad  is compatible. I have been an eBay

member for decades.

Luckily I can still use the eBay app on my phone

What iPad version do you have @fairyqueenjulia ?

For iOS 16 or later and Android 10 or later, follow the instructions here: How to update your eBay app

For older systems running iOS 15 or Android 9 or earlier, you can access eBay from a web browser on your device. Delete the eBay app so links open in your browser instead of the app.

I think I may have made a mistake.

ipad is quite old and as far as I can see it’s 15.7

This can be the issue.  Most iOS devices only have a shelf life of 5 years before their OS is no longer updated.  A similar condition exists for Android based hardware.

One work around is to use the browser and log in that way, but its not the app.  Another is to upgrade the device, but that can be costly.  I think we are on iOS 18 with 19 coming out soon?  I don't use Apple portables much myself, so I don't always keep on top of their release schedule.

OK that's the answer then. Delete the eBay app and access eBay from your iPad's web browser instead.
