If you are experiencing problems with no notifications, late notifications, incorrect sounds please read this post. We will provide some common troubleshooting steps to get your notifications showing up properly.
How to adjust the batter saving settings:
Settings > Apps & Notifications > Advanced > Special Access > Battery optimization > Select All Apps at the top > eBay (Set this to ‘Not Optimized’)
Settings > Smart Manager > App Manager > Auto-Start Tab > Set eBay to “Restrict”
Settings > Smart Manager > App Manager > Deep Hibernate Tab > Toggle eBay to ‘Not optimized’
Samsung S9 Settings > Device Care > Battery > Settings > Adaptive battery toggle.. "Limit battery usage for apps that you don't use often. Your phone will learn how you use apps over time." Toggle OFF
We will keep this topic updated. Please let us know if you have other problems with notifications.

I am so sorry, but... bull*hit!
I have done everything that could be done to your stupid app. I am missing so many auctions, that I can not describe you. Even went three times hard resetting my phone, all because of you. And now not only that I still have your stupid app with it's stupid late notifications problem, but I also f*cked something else to my Android OS. :@ :@
Even now, my app was opened for at least 25-30 minutes and guess what - I received 3 notifications that auctions are about to end, BUT ALREADY ENDED WHILE I WAS LOOKING AT MY SAVED SEARCHES.
Oh I am so mad at you right now... Idiotic things happen and you don't do ANYTHING!
I am so about to get rid of your stupid app and stop using you as a service!

It does seem strange more people are not reporting the issue, but just to confirm I have not noticed any issue with receiving messages and these have came through with the relevant sound and screen notification, it's purely the sales notifications that I am not receiving, or at least the sound is a very short ker-ching, short enough for me to miss it and nothing in the way of visual notifications on screen for sales. The only way I know I've made a sale is via email. To the best of my knowledge, this started after the most recent update, I had reset my phone a few months back just to clear things out and there was no issues with reinstalling everything, but I'm sure there were a few updates lately, one of which was the eBay app and since then the sales notifications have stopped working. I have actually been on the seller hub for a long time so I can't say in my instance that it's anything to do with that.
I've tried basically every suggestion known from logging out/in, logging out, uninstalling, installing, turning off notifications, turning them back off and as I say completely resetting the phone and nothing seems to be bringing the sales notifications back. Really wish eBay would get on top of this one, nothing more annoying than an app with these types of issues.

Can we have some form of confirmation that the issues being described recently are being looked at or some form of acknowledgement that there appears to be an issue with the latest update or are those of us experiencing this the exception?
Cheers

That exactly matches what I'm seeing too -- a garbled/shortened cha-ching on sale/bid notifications, and a shortened tone on watched item reminders, with no screen notifications on either. And as I noted earlier, when the app is open and either of these situations occurs, the app immediately crashes and restarts.
Thanks for letting me know the problem didn't start as a result of being switched to Seller Hub in your case. Must have just been coincidental for me.
On a related note, yesterday I was watching an item to enter a last second bid. At the same time, I received a bid on one of my items (which of course is good). But with the bid received notification, the app crashed, and I almost missed out on the item I bid on. About five seconds later and I would have missed out on the item; I suspect the seller had no idea he nearly lost a sale because of this bug in the app.
I agree with your comment that it would sure be nice if eBay at least acknowledged the problem exists and they are looking into fixing it. I'm certain there are many, many other users who are experiencing the same issue and just not reporting it.

The thing that actually annoys me most isn't the fact that the app is causing issues, it's purely that there seems to be nobody monitoring these forums or responding from eBay support, despite this being the recommended platform to report issues according to the play store description and if we left our customers in the dark with an issue ebay would step in and strike our accounts, something which isn't helping due to the app not functioning properly!.
If my customers tell me if an issue I'm on it immediately, it's just good customer service but why does it always take eBay an eternity to react to something like this, yet if a customer raises a complaint we have time limits, i reckon we're probably on our own till more people pipe up or the app goes completely loopy but until then here's hoping for s miracle!

Thanks for all the posts about the issue. There is currently an issue with notifications on devices that have android OS 5 installed. We will have this fixed in the next update, which is out soon.
We do monitor the forums daily, just did not notice the comments coming in on this FAQ thread. Apologies.

Can you please email us at androidhelp@ebay.com include your user ID and an item number for one of the late notifications next time this happens.

Well that does include me regards to Android v5 but I'm sure I've been on this version for some time without an issue previously so I guess it's still an issue with the latest app release but either way thanks for responding and hope to have this resolved on next release 🙂

Didn't work, obviously.
The APP has critical bugs and they won't go away by rebooting the phone, deleting the app, cleaning cache or whatever.
PAULO.

EBAY knows the truth and the truth is: the app has critical bugs.
And the most frightening thing is that after so many time reporting the "notifications not working" issue, programmers still can't solve the bug.
If I was Ebay's CEO, I'd already called a new programming team to solve the issue.
All solutions given until now are just "entertaining" us while they try to get a solution.

Thanks for the info. I look forward to the update!

Hello,
I have performed every trouble shooting task available several times and even reset my phone. I do not receive notification sounds for sales or messages.
