There's no option to do a search using picture

I used to be able to go into my ebay app, tap search and I could choose to use Camara, scan barcode, or type description. Now when I go into app I'm only able to scan barcode or type description. What gives ? It make things so much more involved to list anything that I'm getting aggravated. Anyone know why I can't use the camera??!???

Yes - the option to search by picture was removed by eBay.

You can't use the camera to search because eBay removed that option.

If it's not broken, fix it (or in this case remove it).

Why did eBay remove it? Will they bring it back, and if so, when?

Only eBay can give you those answers.

FYI - I also used the picture search feature. I felt pretty frustrated and stupid when it was removed, and I kept trying to find where eBay moved the option. Nope not moved...  just gone.  Why would sellers need to know about the change? That's all I have to say about that.

It's crazy,I have my gf as a admin and if I log in with her phone I can still use the picture search feature. So how is it possible,  that it was removed by ebay from my account but yet still works on her phone under my account. 😒 Grrrrrr.

This is so aggravating to say the least. I need this back!!!!!!

eBay removed the feature from the most recent versions of the eBay app. It is possible your girlfriend has an old version that still has that feature available.

You can try performing an image search using a search engine through a browser or by using an app like Google Lens; if you can identify an image by name, you can use the name to search on eBay.

Yep E-BAY SCREWED US ALL!!! They took away the option of using your camera to search for items, but didn’t decide to let it be know! I used this option to search and post my sports cards and THIS IS NOW GOING TO TAKE FOREVER because of these A-HOLES!! But hey, make sure you get charging us your outrageous Fees. !!!!!! I’m out, taking my business elsewhere. Done handing my money over to E-bay. They take 75% of what goy list your item for anyway. Going to other Apps with less fees and more customers!! SCREW YOU E-BAY!!!!🤬🤬🤬

The option to perform an image search still exists in the latest version of the Android App.
