Hello,

I am trying to return an item and want to upload pictures, however, the app tells me to change setting for it to have access to storage. I allowed access to camera and to storage on my Android phone, bit still getting the same message when trying to upload an image.

Any fix?

I have the same issue. But in my case, I can't see eBay app asking for storage permission hence unable to grant storage access. In Android's storage permission setting, eBay app is not listed (i.e. app not asking storage access).

Thanks for reporting this. This will be working better in the next update. To fix this now please try the following

1. sign out of the app

2. uninstall the app

3. reboot your device

4. reinstall and sign in

5. go into list an item and use the camera to add a photo

This should trigger the permissions prompt and set it properly.

Same issues. Rebooting and reinstalling didnt fix. Will use my laptop till this is fixed I guess. ?

And to be clear, I can add photos in the actual app (ex. Adding photos for a listing), but when using the app and it opens up the "ebay app browser" that is when it will not allow it. For example I opened a return case and I am trying to add photos. When i click "See Return Details" from my messages in the ebay app, it opens up the browser inside the app and shows the return details. Then i click add photos, select add from gallery, it says must turn on storage access and brings me to the page I took a screenshot of which doesnt have any storage permissions to select. Hopefully this will be fixed soon! Thanks

Same issue, there is no setting for storage access and this only happens when replying to a return case where you have to upload photos. This literally forces me to have to login on my computer, upload the photo from my phone to the computer, and then reply to the seller. Please fix this right away as it's very inconveniencing.

I think this is a universal problem for Androids. I have a Samsung note 9 and I just started having this issue today. Storage access isn't even a permission to add.

After receiving updates on May 6th 2020 the app will not allow me to retrieve my pictures. It says to go to settings and give permission to access my camera. It has permission. I've tried everything. Turn permissions off and back on, turned my phone off and back on, uninstalling the app and reinstalling. I think they goofed up with the update. HELP!!! PLEASE!!!

Thanks for posting. Can you try these steps.

1. uninstall

2. Reboot

3. Reinstall

4. Tap the camera icon in the search box and accept permissions

Now try other photo access

Also having identical issues with the android app - looks like another backwards upgrade from a billion dollar business - who has also just issued a massive data collection project on the same day. Come on ebay, sort it out - this is not good enough.

Me too. Trying to add photos to selling items and Cannot access storage. When in permissions manager, cannot see app to give permission to storage. Therefore can't use photos on phone to add to selling item. Absolute pain.
