Under iPadOS 17.03, when my iPad Pro 12.9 (5th Gen) is connected via HDMI to an external display, the search field in the eBay app is not displayed, but is still functional.
Typing will be accepted but no text is visible and the field is not visible.
Disconnecting the external display, restores the search field to its usual state.
