If you're working on an outdated device that no longer supports current versions of the eBay app, you should be able to access eBay through a web browser on your phone/tablet.
If links are automatically trying to open in the app, you can delete the app since it's no longer functioning, or change the settings in your browser preferences so links don't automatically open in the app.

Really? Not even working on five year old phones? Okay eBay, what's up? I just checked my other apps: Google Maps? Updated and works fine. YouTube? Up to date and works fine. Weather Underground? Updated and works fine. McMaster Carr? Updated and works fine. Weather Underground, no problems. Storm Radar? Works fine. Yeah, eBay is the only one that isn't working.
But then I've come to expect this from eBay: worthless 'enhancements' that I either never notice or actually get in my way or make finding what I want more difficult. I think eBay forgets who the customer is.
Oh, and 25 software revisions to the app in just the past six months. One a week. Let that sink in. Morons are running the IT section of an IT company. Pure genius.

iOS 15.8.3, as addressed in this thread. It was released July 29th. That's 69 days ago for anyone counting. So much for it being a "no longer supported" platform.
I updated all of my apps and the only one that doesn't work is eBay. eBay wants to know how to reach more customers? It's far easier to keep the ones they have than to attract new ones. Heck, I'm still getting notifications on the old app but, I can't open to see them.
Seriously: nobody put me in charge. Firings across the board. I answer every single marketing or transaction questionnaire I've ever been sent and it's all ignored. The en**bleep**ification of this platform will continue.

The latest iOS update was September 18th to iOS 17.7
iOS 15 was released September 20 2021 and was as of September 12 2022 discontinued and no longer supported by Apple.

Yeah, iOS 15 recently received a security update on July 29th, and that's probably going to be the last one - maybe one more in the coming months @gregcifu . It's nearing end of days for that OS and any devices using it (iPhone 7 from 2016, iPhone 6S from 2015, iPhone SE 1st Gen from 2016).
My phone is somewhat older, but updated to iOS 18 a few days ago.
I can make some educated assumptions that because iOS 15 will soon enter obsolete territory, combined with the expense to maintain older versions of the app, combined with what I assume are lower use numbers for older versions of the app and those buyer/sellers being able to access the website instead, eBay made a decision to jump the gun a little early and stop supporting versions of the app not compatible with a minimum of iOS 16.
Use the website until you upgrade your phone and can access the app again.

Not sure where that info came from, but it's not accurate.

Over all the years, they have never added the ability to search for new results on saved searches from the browser. That's on the phone, or on desktop. Seems kind of odd that they'll implement stupid "improvements" like shake your phone to instantly get help but, they don't make the basic functionality of their desktop experience match what has existed in the app for as long as I can remember.
As for updating phones: changing phones will drive a bunch of upgrades external to the phone that I don't feel like doing right now. Because of the port change to USB-c (thanks to different morons) I will have to also ditch audio interface hardware in two of my cars and toss two docking station, speaker devices. Yeah, not upgrading all of that because of eBay.
Finally: the old app is still working but I can't use it. Long push on the app icon and you can get straight to saved searches, watchlist and a few others. They come up. I just can't dismiss their nag-box telling me to update it.
The only thing I've noticed is eBay can't push their stupid marketing offers for whatever reason (that I'm not interested in). I never wanted them. Didn't ask for them. And because of how the app has been designed to work, I often miss the end of auctions and lose the item because of all the noise they constantly push. Unchecked notifications for "Shop the latest handbags for fall" is not something I will ever, ever, click or buy. Thanks! The morons cost me some other auction that got outbid and was three notifications behind their push notifications for what is basically spam.

this does not work for me. Tried it many many times. it does not down load an earlier version of eNay and there is no way to select one. What do you suggest is causing this?

According to the below post from an eBay rep, the UK stopped supporting older operating systems. Android 10 and iOS 17 appear to be the minimum operating system requirements for the eBay app in the UK.

You should still be able to access https://www.ebay.co.uk/ using a web browser on your device.
If links are automatically opening in the app you can change your settings and force them to open in your web browser, or you can delete the app which will default links to opening in your device's web browser.

Yep, I can access my account through a browser but whole idea of an app is it makes things much, much easier and faster.
