Hey eBay community and team!
I’ve been thinking about an idea that could make life a lot easier for resellers, especially when it comes to checking prices quickly. Imagine an app that instantly shows the average prices for both new and used items, based on the last 10 sales. No more digging around or filtering through listings to get this info!
Here’s how it would work:
It would be a huge time-saver for resellers, especially those of us who need to check prices on the go. Instead of spending time filtering listings, this app would show the most important details right away—average price, product condition, and listings—all in one screen.
And how about this: what if you could just take a photo of an item, and the app would recognize it instantly? It would pull up all the price history, average prices, and listings for that product without even needing to type a thing. Perfect for those hard-to-name products or collectibles!
eBay team, any chance we could see something like this in the future? I think it would be super helpful for resellers and anyone who wants quick pricing info. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for reading and can’t wait to hear what the community thinks! 😊

Also, make it user-friendly by adding a feature that shows how well the item is selling—whether it's selling fast, selling well, or selling slow. This will help resellers get not only the average price but also an understanding of whether an item is in high demand or not.
Users can upload or take photos to recognize products directly. Use the photo data to pull the product info from your eBay database. This could be a huge time-saver, and you could charge around $10-20 per month for the app. I’d personally pay for it, and I know a lot of other resellers would too—it would be a great way to monetize!

So you are basically saying it would be Google Lens but tied exclusively to eBay listings.
Real question and not trying to be snarky.
If Google has a hard time for it (Google lens) to work, what makes you think eBay could do better?

I’m not saying it will work exactly like Google Lens, as eBay has a different database of photos, which I believe could perform a bit better in specific cases. If tools like ChatGPT can recognize products, then eBay, with its extensive photo base, should be able to do so as well—though of course, it might not work for everything.

The mobile app already does this. With a listing, in the section where you go to set the price, it looks for any items that have already sold showing stats on low, high, average for it so you have a starting basis on how to set your item's price.
