Hi. 1st time here as far as I remember. Let's see how good this forum is. All I ask is you to do better than ebay phone help.. Not too much to ask, eh?
Ok, so my current issue is I use ebay a lot & only have my S8 phone, no computer. Previous to recently, I had no problem w/viewing almost any pages anywhere, eBay or not, on landscape view. I cannot stand portrait view in almost any case. But especially when reading or writing text. Typing in portrait on this narrow screen phone is very difficult & extremely annoying as well as generates a plethora of mistakes. I hate it. I could not survive w/o landscape view.
Up til a few days ago, I had no problem in this regard in ebay, as all pages worked in landscape & portrait depending on the orientation of my phone. Occasionally, I'll run into a site page somewhere that doesn't work on landscape, such as the messaging on OfferUp (one reason I dont use that site), bjt for the most part, seems like close to over 95% success rate at using landscape mode.
Until a few days ago, I had no issue w/using any ebay pages on landscape mode (and that's a good thing because I am using & depending heavily on ebay buy/sell currently.
An issue started a couple days ago, maybe yesterday, whereby I was having an extended conversation w/a seller, using the ebay messaging. After many messages back & forth, then when I went to send one, I got a popup dialog that I was blown ked from sending. Don't know why as nothing was said to isolate the rules & it was not the seller who blocked me. I called eBay & had the usual language barrier issue & wound up speaking to guy and then a supervisor. They both said there was no blocks on my account but they also said something sounding contradictory about how even w/o a block on acct, saying the wrong thing could result in the system placing an automatic block, bjt as far as I know, nothing wrong ie, exchange of contact info had occurred. It just started blocking me for no apparent reason out of the blue. Nothing tried would work to solve this. Didn't mater how many times I tried to send or from the app or from my email. Restart of phone didn't help, nor did their suggestion to do an uninstall/reinstall, as the same problem remained. Eventually, I found a way to get it to stop blocking me and I confirmed w/seller that it wasn't him who did it, plus as I said, eBay said there was no block placed So that was pretty strange & it really had me **bleep**..
Anyway, as I said, thru that process, I wound up doing the uninstall/reinstall. So after all this, then I discovered that now, I could not get any if the pages, only in the messaging section to go to landscape. All the other non messaging pages still go to landscape w/o any problem. It's only when I click on messaging, does this issue appear. I tried all the above things tried for the blocked issue, and none worked to get landscape working in messaging ONLY. So then I remembered that somewhere along the line, recently, but not sure if it was before or after this landscape problem started, I did an ebay update. I'm almost positive that after I did that update, the landscape was still working perfectly. As far as I know, this issue began only after I did the uninstall/reinstall for the previous issue. So I tried another uninstall/reinstall and that did not help. Then I realized the only way to fix this would be to find some older app versions and downgrade to an earlier version. I thought that ...woukd HAVE to fix it. Well, I tried I think 3 previous versions and it has no affect on the problem. Issue still remains. Can't understand why it would only affect ebay messaging pages??
So that's my problem and I must get this fixed as I cannot type in portrait. I do alot of communicating w/buyers and sellers. I MUST find a solution P L E A S E !
